I have to vent about Topbox. I got one box, it was awful, I cancelled, but it was too late in the billing cycle so I paid for, and received, one final box. O.M.G. it was HIDEOUS. Worst waste of $ on beauty products ever. My full size item was a big vial of mineral eyeshadow pigment in...wait for it...bright, dark, slightly sparkly orange. Like, hunter orange. On LSD. Picture the ugliest orange you can imagine and times it by infinity. I could not believe that a) such a product was ever made, and b) how on earth Topbox thought that in 2016 (or any year) that this would be a cool product. I paid for this! Sorry, but THEY should pay ME for receiving it! If that wasn't bad enough, I got a lip liner in an unflattering shade (for almost anyone) that was not even sealed for safety! The tip of the liner was dented. It looked like it was a tester or found at the bottom of a bargain bin at "Worst Makeup R' Us". I am just flabbergasted that these are the kind of products that a beauty box would hand out to subscribers.
To top it all off, I received an email for this month's Topbox indicating I had XX number of days to let them know if my address changed before they shipped my next box. Next box??!! Huh??? So I logged in to what should have been a dormant account only to find out they signed me up for a NEW, second account and charged my credit card without my consent! What the what??!! I contacted them immediately telling them to cancel (again) and no explanation was even offered as to why someone started a new subscription and charged me. No apology, nothing. I wish I never even heard of Topbox.
Ps - anyone want some hideous orange mineral eyeshadow? It looks really pigmented and might be a good product if you plan on being a pumpkin for Halloween.

I've been with Topbox since Glymm went out of business in 2013.
I've never received a broken item, and have only received shadow a few times.
One of the shadows was WAY too powdery and always got on my face no matter what, so I just used it in my bath bombs instead - perfect for colouring those!
Some nail polishes aren't perfect (emerald green and orange :P), but instead I just started painting my nails more funky, using multiple colours.
I'm generally happy with at least 3 out of the 4 items received, and the full sized item is usually the cost of what I paid for the entire box, so I always see value in it.
So aside from maybe 3 or 4 products that I absolutely did not like, there are too many products that I have enjoyed, and generally last me quite awhile.
I don't opt in for Prive boxes that I don't feel I get enough value from, and I love the monthly surprise.
I am sorry that your billing was skewed and another account was set up. They are usually pretty quick at fixing errors though - just be polite and tactful and your problem will be solved asap :)

I'm glad you have a good experience with them. I've heard others say how much they like it so I thought I'd give it a try but besides one product all I got were duds. I seriously received some of the same sample items I got for free at SDM :( it's just not for me.

Entertaining review, hope you shared that in the review section.
I have not had any over the top great experiences with any subscription boxes (except maybe wantable accessories) . I find the cosmetics are kind of hit and miss, and yes, I have received some pretty funky colours that I would never wear. My teenage nieces are thrilled though, because they get the "misses". I hav cancelled most boxes as I just felt I was spending too much money without really knowing what I was getting. That being said, the element of surprise, and hope,was what kept me subscribed.

I love my Topbox but to be fair I am only 3 in. I cancelled my Ipsy due to the stuff I was getting. I even did the questions again but kept getting the same stuff that I would never use. Example: I do not wear lipstick but each Ipsy came with one. The TopBox for me is a much better value for the money but if it goes down hill like Ipsy did for me I shall cancel that too. So far loving my monthly surprise.

I recently cancelled my Topbox subscription as well, after receiving a mint blue powder eyeshadow (and the exact same one in my Luxe Box). I wish there was a decent Canadian beauty subscription box!
