Any suggestions on preventing or giving my eye make up better staying power? I use a primer and powder to set my make up already for a base but half way through the day, I am back to greasy eye lids. Its the only place I have this problem on my face.
I know if I can figure this out I will have so much more fun with eye make up...

Hey!! I found a link that may be helpful to you...Step 1 seems to be what you already do initially, but the rest may help, especially Step 6!! Here it is:
mineral powder on Jan 02, 2012 @ 10:28 pm
I always use a translucent mineral powder its great on the eyelids. It also absorbs all oils after applying mineral powder then apply eyeshadow. There are many on the market I like Physicians formula they have compact ones but I like the loose powder ones best.Good luck.
long lasting concealer on Jan 02, 2012 @ 11:55 pm
i know how you feel i have the same problem and well all i did was put some long lasting concealer on my eyelids . The one i used was revlon colorstay blemish concealer. This concealer does have some chemical to help blemishs cause its a blemish concealer but its never irritated my eyes (and i have very very sensetive eyes) so give that concealer a try . After using it on my eyelids ive nver had a problem with my eyes, and my eyeshadow has never rubbed off. Hope that helped :)

I will have to try those two products, they sound like they should do the trick!
which primer? on Jan 04, 2012 @ 11:00 am
hey marygorgeous, which primer do you use for your lids? Two really good primers that have help keep eyeshadow on all day are of course the Urban Decay primer potion and Two Faced primer potion. I'm sure there are others out there. You shouldn't have to use too much product to make your product stay put! :-) So perhaps take a look at what you're using and switch it up to find something that works better for you.
Go to Sephora and ask them to make testers for you of both the primers I mentioned and/or any they can think of that helps oily lids. Try them out to see which works best for you.
Also, lots of eyeshadows just crease easier than others. Sephora came out with a new brand of eyeshadow which I found in the stores but couldn't find online so can't link you. I used that without primer and it didn't crease!! Imagine the staying power of that thing with a good primer base! :-) In other words, find eyeshadow that works for you and has more staying, non-creasing power.
Let us know what works! :-)

Thanks becky, I just went to Sephora and got some samples from various brands and I have to say I really liked the Urban Decay primer potion best also for the price. There are other brands, but they are much pricer.
I think I will stick with this, and go pick up the actual full size. I am so happy! I have worn eye shadow every day this week and it stays alllll day!
Thank you for your help, I will have to include a review later :) AND I found the sephora eye shadow to which you referred and I will trying that out soon too.
awesome! :-) on Jan 11, 2012 @ 12:41 pm
UD Primer Potion is my personal favourite too!! :) I'm so glad it worked out for you! And I totally think that investing in this primer potion is worth it, the price isn't too too steep, a little goes a long way, and it makes all eyeshadows look great! :)
Glad I'm not the only one! on Jan 30, 2012 @ 10:51 am
Oh my goddness I have the SAME problem! I never wear eye make up because half way through the day it's all smudged/built up in the crease of my eye lid! Very fustrating....

I know, I was sorta embarrassed to admit it :P But turns out there are more people with the problem than you'd think.
The Urban Decay primer potion changed my eye-shadow-make-up life! I also wear it with out eye shadow and I never get the oily lids now.
Seriously, try it. Just ask for a sample like I did, I was SO surprised that a cream could make such a difference!
a little tip... on Jan 30, 2012 @ 12:45 pm
Try out some cream concealer instead of primer...works well for me. Keeps my eyeshadow long lasting and not greasy at all.
