I want to get a partial brazillian wax for the first time, but I don't know where to go get it. Does anyone know where a good place to get a brazillian wax is that isn't too costly?
Also, is it really painful? I've heard from some friends that it hurts a lot but other friends say it doesn't hurt that much.

Hi Miss Chickie,
I live in Hamilton but I go to downtown Toronto often.

I'm not sure anyone can really tell you how painful or not it'll be since everyone has different pain levels they can tolerate (obviously). In my experience, bikini-area waxes are more painful than armpit or leg waxes. How do you find those? The very first time or two will also be more painful than later on. It also really depends on the esthetician, so make sure you get a recommendation - and ask for one from a wimpy, low pain tolerance friend ;)

... claims to have the best brazillian in town. I haven't tried yet because I'm too cheap/scared, but it's an adorable and very clean spot so I think it would be a great bet for your first one. It is $50, which is pretty standard for a Brazilian. I have been to cheaper places but have also had some unpleasant experiences in the name of saving a few bucks so I will probably come here and try this myself at some point :)

I will definitely check out 10 spot the next time I'm in Toronto!
very painful!! on Jun 25, 2008 @ 12:31 am
I have had a brazilian wax once in my life and it was very painful. Every time she pulled the strip it was very painful. I thought I had a pretty good tolerance for pain until then lol. It seemed likle forever and when I looked down she wasn't even half done, I knew I was in for it. Then at the end there was some hair she couldn't get off with the wax so she wanted to pluck it, I said heck no i am done. I honestly think it's because she didn't have much experience, The next time before I go, I will definitely check reviews, because all of my friends say it shouldn't have been that bad.

it shouldn't be that painful! I get a brazilian about every two months or less. I have heard that there is a difference in pain depending on your time of the month. I wish I could tell you which day in your cycle it was pain free, but I haven't found that day yet!!
I have been going to the same lady for years now ... she is the best! I've had some VERY bad experiences and it took a few tries to find someone that was good. The skill of your aesthetician is very important for your own comfort. Not only do you have to feel comfortable with the person seeing your lady parts, but also their technique and manner should be such that they don't make you feel uncomfortable! My lady is very quick, and she knows what I want done! I can be in and out in 10 or 15 minutes! The more you have been doing it the less hair grows back and the more tolerable the pain is.
Ok... so i've raved about her so here you go, now write this down... Natural Solutions Spa at Fairview Mall... ask for Rossette! She is awesome! :)
weird question? on Jun 26, 2008 @ 10:53 pm
thanks!! She sounds like a really great aesthetician.
This maybe a weird question, but I heard that if a person gets too many bikini waxes then the skin down there sags!?!
does anyone know if this is true?

Nonsense ;) on Jun 27, 2008 @ 10:13 am
Haha! I've never heard that one before. I can assure you from personal experience that it does not. Maybe if your waxer is really clueless and doing it in a damaging way, but... no.
