What is the story with Silk Pillow Cases?

I went and got a blow dry last night and it was one of those salons
that only do blow drys and they were selling silk pillow cases because
they apparently keep your hair from frizzing and tangeling up. Is this
true?! Has anyone tried this before?

That's a new one on me. I've had silk pillow cases before and never noticed and difference in my hair.

Satin pillowcases are slippery so this is supposed to be great for keeping your hair from getting tangled or sleep creases on your face. I wouldn't buy it from the salon though. You can probably get a better deal and better selection from a department store.

Really Ali?? on Jan 20, 2012 @ 09:42 am

I guess the pillow cases I was think of were silk not satin. I'll have
to try that. My hair is so fine that it tangle's up very easily. It
make's me crazy trying to brush the knots out in the morning and 20
times a day, plus all that brushing isn't good for it. Thanks for the
tip Ali.

This is the theory anyway on Jan 20, 2012 @ 10:37 am

I've been looking for satin pillowcases for awhile but there is a lot of cheap crap out there I wouldn't want to sleep on all night. I have been looking for some nice quality ones. I will let you know if it works for me when I get a chance to try this personally. It's widely touted in the beauty circles to work!

what I have found on Feb 06, 2012 @ 02:15 am

I use silk or satin and I find that it helps keep my style longer and as ali said don't buy the cheap ones they don't work any better than cotton pillow cases.
