I am looking for the best mascara that is fairly cheap and can be found at a drugstore or Target. I have really long lashes so I am not looking for length, but I am looking for thickness and curl. My problem is all the mascaras I have used make my lashes clump together or make them look "spidery." They brushes won't go in between each lash but rather layer on in globs. I want a mascara that goes on evenly and wont clump when you put on more then one layer. Any suggestions?

I only use Just For Redheads mascaras now but before I found them I loved Maybelline Lash Discovery - it's got a smaller wand so it's able to cover more lashes than the standard mascara wands. Their new Define-a-lash could be good too, looks like it has a similar wand but shaped a little different so it might be better for curl. Or Sky High Curves. Never tried that one either but have heard good things about it. HTH!

I have tried a lot of mascaras and the 2 I love beat all the ones in the drugstore.

Alot of mascaras are the same, no matter the price, it's actually the wand that makes the difference. The better the wand, the less clumping there will be for you. There should be mascaras out there as well that are for curling rather than length. I also always use a lash brush, both before I apply mascara (because my lashes are long and get tangled) as well as after application. This separates the lashes as well as gets rid of excess mascara that clumps on the lashes. It is also important to keep the wand clean. If you use a separate wand rather than the one provided with the mascara, wash or rub off extra mascara after each use. I always rub off excess mascara also before applying.
Hope this helps!
(PS I have also gotten mascara from the dollar store, and it wasn't bad for $1 make up!)

It's so hard to find the right mascara. I have tried from drug store to higher end mascaras and still can't set my mind on one.
Sephora has a limited edition mini mascara set with 10 different brands for 35$. (which seems reasonable and competible with drug store price)
I have been eyeing this package to get the search done, since I am so sick of buying full mascars to 'try it out'. Hopefully I'll find something I love. I am just a little concerned with how long this package is good for.

I really like Cover Girl Last Blast. I find you need to "work" (lol) at
it a lot to get nice, full lashes. It may take many tries before you
actually like it. I found that I had this problem the first few times
and then rated it on CA too soon :P
The only thing I don't like so much is the brush.. too big. Doesn't get
to all of the tiny lashes in the inner and outer corners of your eyes.

My current favorite is Lancome Hypnose. it gives really good volume and doesn't clump! I heard great things about Dior too but haven't had a chance to try it.

Re: the comment from ddebb...
Collosal Volume Express from Maybelline is a great mascara at the
beginning... It gives AMAZING volume... like fake lashes. I totally
loved it at the begining...
but there is one big problem, not the smell....After 1month, the
mixture gets really crappy.... Last week I have put it on in the
morning, and during the day i noticed it was starting to fall off in my
eyes, and when I touched my lashes, it felt like dust...
Anyway it was a bit weird...
Maybelline mascaras always tends to make clumps, but usually they last
long and are good products in general... So I don't understand...
Anyway, I heard a lot of good about the Lancome's mascaras, so I'm going to splurge myself and spend a good 25 bucks on it...
I am really looking for the perfect '' fake lashes'' type of mascara.....

My favorite beauty product is mascara so naturally, I have about a million tubes. My current favorites are: Maybelline Define-A-Lash (the rubber brush with the bend toward the middle offers amazing length), L'Oreal Telescopic (another rubber brush with like 5 sides each for great length!), L'Oreal Voluminous (I just love this mascara for some reason, the brush is very plump and nice) and finally Victoria's Secret Very Sexy mascara ( this has always been a favorite of mine, It works so well in layering mascaras to achieve a really long, seperated, defined look!) I hope you find the mascara for you!
