Why Pay?

There a few (not naming) as I don't want to upset, monthly beauty boxes out there where you pay so much per month. I know someone that used to use this but never actually knew what was coming. She found it hard to get reimbursed etc. for what she didn't like. Just didn't understand why she would pay when there's so many contests for beauty supplies and/or samples. I do know lots of you girls like this, so please do not be offended, just an opinion I have.

I'll admit I am one of those girls who signs up to receive monthly beauty boxes, mainly as I do like the element of surprise (to some degree, as well the companies have a survey of sorts to pin point your likes and dislikes, so it isn't a total surprise) as well as often what is inside totals more in value than the subscription fee. I like that it gives me the opportunity to try new products I might not normally have and if I don't like something it makes for a nice gift. Plus the samples they send tend to be deluxe sizes and often it's a full sized item! so it is a bigger quantity of sample you get to experience. Part of it is tho that you get what you get and you don't get upset however if a product arrives empty or damaged depending on whom you contact or perhaps how you go abut it they often will strive to achieve your happiness. The last pro that i can think of is it is much less work to sign up than scouring the web for free links that are often expired or full or just plain don't ship to your area. Oh wait!! You also get loyalty points with most sub boxes so eventually you will get a free something!
No offense taken at all lol I often wonder why I waste my money on these boxes too and then I get a super awesome one!

Monthly glam bags on Apr 26, 2016 @ 03:04 pm

I order the monthly glam bags from Ipsy.
I find if I get 3 products that I really like from the bag I get my moneys worth.
I pay about $15 for the subscription and get 5 products bag.
Also, if you review your products you get points for to redeem towards
other products. I think it's worth it. Only one bag so far was disappointing.
Plus, it's awesome to experiment with brands you don't know much about.
Especially, when you get some high end stuff in there too.
It is also customized to your style... so it's more likely items I will enjoy
in comparison to a lot of the random freebies out there.
Don't get me wrong, I love my freebies! Haha but there are lots of
contests I don't bother with because they are not appealing to me at all.

Love it! on Apr 26, 2016 @ 04:18 pm

I get ipsy, each month costs me $20 and my bags actual worth has been anywhere from $35-$52. Each month I receive 5 items and at least 1 is full size, either nail polish, eye liner, lipsticks, eye shadow, bronzer, face masks or a tool such as a brush. The 'samples' are actually always deluxe size and have contained enough product to last me a month. The whole point it to be surprised each month and try new products and/or brands at a fraction of their regular price. Ive only ever received a few things I wasn't thrilled with but sold them on my local swap/buy site.

I'm not sure why anyone would expect to be reimbursed for things she didn't like, since they tell you it's a monthly surprise. I don't expect to be reimbursed for the few things I got but wasn't in love with. And if you hate the service, it's easy to cancel.

Plus, it's customized to your tastes and the more you review your monthly products, the more accurate it becomes.

I like be freebies, but I'd be hard pressed to find 1 free makeup brush or full sized product plus deluxe size samples each month, let alone 5. To me, it's worth it and fun to try new stuff. I've found a few new 'beauty staples' this way that are affordable and work well.
