I use cotton pads for everything from make up remover to toner and cleansers. I usually use some inexpensive dollar or drugstore ones because I go through them so fast.
I just came across these reusable, washable cotton pads though and I'm a bit intrigued.
They come in a pack of 8, so one for every day of the week and an extra. You just pop them in the washing machine and reuse them again. They're made from organic cotton.
I don't know how I feel about these. On the one hand, I love the environmentally friendly aspect but on the other hand, I think I need more than 8. Washing them weekly seems like a bit of a chore.
What about you- what do you think of these?

it intends to be ecofriendly for minimizing waste...but of course, if im using it for makeup, and cosmetics is one heck of a stain. and if every week, you are popping them in the washing machine alone (cause we dont want stains on our other clothes) and there is only 8 of them, that seems to like just wasting electricity. and we are not very sure that the bacteria that was left on the pads after we use it will leave after washing them. in my opinion, i might say no to this. im not taking any risk.

I would have to hand wash them in the sink too because I agree with Xhiao about clothes potentially getting stained not to mention a pain in the butt. I would stick to the disposable ones. They still break down over time and if you use eco friendly make up remover it wouldn't be so bad.

I know I would forget to wash them once a week, not on purpose but I know myself -_- So I would have to say that I wouldn't be a fan of this idea
I enjoy my disposable wipes

I'm going to say no to this product as I am with the author and use and prefer the disposable products from the dollar store and/or drugstore. I like the idea of a fresh clean cotton ball/wipe each time.
I realize this is the same idea as using a new facecloth each day but these would need to be black to hide stains.
|Maybe not... on Aug 27, 2013 @ 09:16 pm|
I really like the idea of more environmentally friendly products. At the same time, I agree that they would probably get stained, or stain other things, very quickly. I think that after just a couple uses they would start to look ratty, and that would put me off of them really quickly. Using the disposable ones is a convenience I will probably keep using.

Cotton is a biodegradable product, so don't dispose of your one use pads in a plastic garbage bag, dig them into your mulch.
