Word is, the number of men opting for Tummy tuck surgery has more than doubled since the year 2000.
That's not all - body makeup and toning creams have seen massive increase in sales, as men get on the bandwagon of striving for the "perfect look". (and here we thought most men were immune to that sort of thing...)
We've talked before about the reasons for and against getting plastic surgery ourselves, but how do you feel about your guy doing it?
Would you welcome it? (Heck, maybe even make inquiries yourself?) Or do you prefer your guy au naturale?

I think it is better for a man to go give up at least half of the amount of beer and burgers and pizza, and go to the gym to stay fit rather than consume junk and then get tummy tucks

I suppose it would be unfair for me to say it's weird for a man to get a tummy tuck when I don't think the same for women.
If I knew someone (man or woman) who told me they were thinking about it, I'd probably have a similar reaction to both genders -- ask them their reasoning, encourage them to try diet and exercise first, etc. But if it were MY man, I'd probably discourage it.

I would only be all for the tummy tuck if at one point he was very heavy and after he lost the weight he was left with a stomach that exercise and a healthy diet couldn't fix. I think it's ridiculous for anyone man or woman to get a tummy tuck if they can obtain the same if not better results through exercise and diet. We live in a world where people are lazy and selfish and want results fast and aren't willing to work for it so they opt for the surgery which blows my mind because there are so many risks involved and not only that, but they're paying money for those risks. I am def not against plastic surgery, but I honestly feel that if you can achieve it on your own, why not do it and save yourself the risks and they money? Then in the end you can feel proud that you were able to achieve a healthy body on your own.

(actually an 8 pack!) since hes so slim. Could never imagine him chubby.......but if he wanted work on his face or such I have no problem with it.

My husband doesn't have a tummy to get tucked, which is annoying. I really don't like the "perfect" look but I wouldn't say I'm against men getting plastic surgery. Mannies and peddies are fine with me, now a fake tan.. that's pushing it. I guess I like the ragged beard and messy hair look better, not like a dirty look though because smelling good is one of my top priorities!

oh go away, you wives of hotties ;) You're making the rest of us jealous!
"My husband doesn't have a tummy to get tucked" - oh AnnaV, I'm trying sooo hard to feel sorry for you right now!
You guys are hilarious!
|But.. on Oct 15, 2010 @ 01:20 pm|
I should have added "no tummy to get tucked YET, at least," he's only in his 20s! ><
I'm sure the answer to that question is definitely going to change when he's in his 40's though...

Except in a situation like JenniferB said. Surgery should be the very last resort.
|I think not. on Oct 16, 2010 @ 08:11 pm|
My hubby is a chubby guy, and I personally thinks it's because he has a horrible love for candy, pop, and pizza. I still love the way he looks and he is very cuddly <3 I can't see why I would want him to get a tummy tuck. If he was very obese I think I would talk to him about a change in diet and more exercise. I do love him the way he is.

I'm reading through all the comments and was just thinking "pshk you guys and your perfect hubbies" when i read mamaluv's comment and realized she beat me to it ;-)
OK so mine doesn't have flab... YET..!! he calls me his baby elephant (i don't know under WHICH planet he thinks that's cute!) so i'm just waiting for the day he gets the chubs i'm gonna tease him to NO END ..revenge is sweeeeet lol
As far as tummy tucks...i wouldn't want him to go under the knife for something cosmetic. Especially something he can fix himself with some hard work and discipline.
