What do you think of Zooey's new Rimmel ad?
I love the lipstick Union Jack! And I think the colour she's wearing is gorgeous. I miss her cute freckles though, and she has such a genuine smile, kind of wish her personality was coming through more. I hope they do a commercial with her (preferably with her singing).

I completley agree!! She is such a bubbly person with theeee cutest freckles/smile! Hate when ads dont work the person into the ad...but still the colours look great on her :)

I think the concept for the ad is really beautiful. But Zooey just doesn't look like her normal spirited self. Seems more like a plasticized version of her. I too hope the ad is more bouncy and free with her personality in the future! Rimmel usually does some fantastic ads that always catch my attention!

She looks absolutely gorgeous, but I have to say I spent a good few mins looking at her face thinking, she looks gorgeous, but something's not right here... Then I realized.. They airbrushed/photoshopped the expression outta her! She looks like a gorgeous porcelain doll.
Whatever they did, it's working. I really want to go to my nearest Shoppers/Pharma Plus and check out Rimmel products right about now!

..does she look a little digital?
She does look gorgeous in person and above, but I agree with you guys I prefer a genuine smile and a little personality.
@siofan - I hope there's a commercial too, I could see that being really great!

What I noticed most about these ads is how blatantly fake the lashes look. I know this is true for most mascara ads, but I've never seen so obviously photoshopped lashes.
That being said, she looks gorgeous! Good choice for a mascara ad, her eyes are amazing!

There's actually a great writeup on Beauty Geeks about this and several other of her Rimmel ads how they've made her look nothing like herself.
As I commented on her post I don't understand why they'd think her image needs altering to begin with. Why hire a celebrity only to alter the features that make her familiar?
|agreed on Mar 23, 2011 @ 01:21 pm|
I agree that there's too much Photoshop used here, her features are off.
But even still, I LOVE the lipstick Union Jack and that gorgeous pink lipstick she is wearing! I also think that Zooey is a great choice to represent Rimmel!
|Doesn't even look like her... on Mar 25, 2011 @ 01:23 pm|
This ad makes her look like everyone else in the beauty ads out right now. I wish they left her style and image intact but they completely re-did her. A shame :(

Too photoshopped. Zooey and her sister are very beautiful without any makeup of photoshop. Other Rimmel ad I saw at Rite Aid and US magazine,, she looked much better than this picture. She seemed to be more natural, more like herself.

She looks awful, so fake, why has she even agreed to this when it makes her unnatural. Besides she's American, why has Rimmel used an American to be the face of their brand when I thought they were British, isn't that the reason why they chose Kate Moss?
