ASOS.COM / bathing suits online?

Hey girls, has anyone ever shopped on asos.com?

I just stumbled upon their site, and they have amazingly cute stuff, and it's decently priced. It says they have free shipping to Canada which is awesome, I was just wondering if anyone has ever shopped with them and know if it's actually free or if i'm going to end up getting crazy customs fees as I think this is a UK based company?

The main reason i'm interested in this site is because they have LOTS (like, 1000's) of adorable bathing suits in weird sizes...I'm a 30E bra size but need a size small bottoms, so finding bathing suits in Canada that fit is a b**** to say the least, and they're always over $100 just for a top so it gets expensive and most of them are very plain :( No fun!

So i'm really stoked about finding this site, I found tons in the Clearance section for under $20 and you can mix & match pieces which I love. Think i'm gonna take the plunge (no pun intended hehe) and just buy them because i'm going on vacation (yay!) in a month and want to give ample shipping time.

But if anyone else has suggestions of places to buy cute "big bust" bathing suits (either online that ships to Canada or an actual store somewhere around the GTA) I would really appreciate it!

*ps i've tried Victoria's Secret before, but they charge so much for shipping, and they didn't even fit I needed to get mine taken in...they only go down to 32 band size.

Asos Suits on Jan 29, 2013 @ 04:34 pm

I've ordered shoes from Asos before and I did kind of get screwed on the duties. My shoes were like 40 and I paid like 20ish in duties I think? I think it might be because I ordered from the UK site, not the US version? (Also, go to ebates.ca first and shop through them and you get cash back!!!)

Oh boy you would have the worst time finding suits!!! If you're comfortable wearing two pieces, Try looking at Old Navy, they go up to XXXL, you can mix and match too but the only thing is that you probably won't find the most supportive pieces. I have a larger bust too though and I have bought ones from there. Also a trick that I use is that if I am a 32 E lets say, I will instead go for a 34 dd so if you're a 30 E, you could try a 34 or 32 dd maybe?

Try looking into specialty bra stores, many carry swimsuits too. Also modcloth has some really cute swimsuits for larger sizes, I think you might be able to order a top off there and then just find matching bottoms elsewhere.

Victoria's Secret on Jan 29, 2013 @ 05:37 pm

I saw your post and I have to mention that I bought a bathing suit from Victoria's secret last summer and I love it so much. It came to 70 odd dollars in the end and (I live in Canada so I had to past extra for shipping). No duty charges though! I will probably never buy a bathing suit anywhere else after that purchase.
as for Asos, although they have real cute stuff I won't take the risk with customs

Canadian swimwear on Jan 29, 2013 @ 05:42 pm

I missed the last part on your post about Victoria's Secret, that's too bad. It definitely is difficult to find nice swimwear in Canada, I feel your pain

Oh well, went for it! on Jan 30, 2013 @ 03:01 pm

Just placed an order! I got 2 suits for $80, so hopefully since they're lightweight and the total is under $100 I won't get charged much for duties. And thanks for the ebates tip alexjc :)

I'll let you know when they arrive / if they fit / if i'll regret it due to customers charges haha!

UPDATE! on Feb 06, 2013 @ 01:44 pm

Well, just got my suits!!

I thought that was superfast, and I didn't get charged anything for shipping or any other taxes, and everything fits!!
I got 3* suits (top and bottom sets, so 6 pieces total) for $85. Also got $7 back from ebates!
Very excited about this, will definitely be shopping from here again.
Highly recommend!

BEST BATHING SUIT EVER! on Jan 16, 2015 @ 07:50 pm

Just had to add a review here...I just received my asos bikini and couldn't be happier...it's a high-waisted retro-y kind of bottom and underwire bikini top. I am in love, which I can't say I have ever felt about a bikini. After having 2 kids I have a little pooch of a tummy but still a size 4...I have been looking for something high-waisted and this is beyond amazing. I normally wear 1 size up in a bathing suit which is what I ordered, US 6. It fits perfectly!

Bathing Suits Online on Feb 23, 2015 @ 07:00 pm

Swimspot.com and Swimsuits 4 All are both on Ebates.ca.

I know you have already received your online order. I am a little leery of buying a bathing suit online because my body is so many different sizes.

I'm glad it worked out for you. Not having to pay shipping and duty is a real bonus!

Great! on Feb 23, 2015 @ 10:44 pm

I purchased a dress from them once and thought the quality was great for the price I paid. It was also true to size and I didn't pay customs either.
