color wheel

Recently, I was talking to a male friend and he divulged to me that he often uses a color wheel to put together his wardrobe. I don't know why, but it kind of took me by surprise, especially since I only see him in black and gray all the time! It got me to thinking that perhaps he had a good point with the color wheel. I'm interested, do you guys use it to put together outfits? OR does it come intuitively?

I would have never thought to use a colour wheel to create an outfit, but I could see how it would come in handy. Especially if you want to experiment with colour but you need a 'safety net'.

I think I'm going to print this out and stick it to my closet wall. Sometimes I feel like I'm wearing the same type of outfit over and over. I can totally see this bringing about a change!

I like that idea a lot! For anyone who is unsure about their sense of style it's actually a really smart thing to do.

But sometimes the most exciting outfits break the traditional colour rules.

Yea, I never thought about doing this either, before my male friend told me his little secret. I think it really is a great idea, and would totally recommend it to those unsure of color combinations, especially this time of year, as people want to experiment with color more
