Not having gotten married or even thinking about marriage, it's hard for me to imagine just how expensive weddings can be. Wedding dresses even more so! The idea of spending 5000 or more on ONE dress for ONE day is crazy to me! Which is why this $99 wedding dress from H&M of all places is kind of an awesome idea (bonus: it's super pretty!)-
The white strapless floor-length dress has floral beaded embellishment at the neckline, a fitted waist and pleated skirt.
H&M say the dress will land in stores this month ahead of the summer wedding season.
A spokesperson for the brand said: 'We have been offering party dresses for quite some time and we felt that we wanted to be able to give our customer an opportunity to look great on her wedding day by offering this great and affordable wedding dress in our assortment.
'Everyone should be able to have a great and affordable wedding dress.'
How much did you or would you spend on a wedding dress? Would you buy this one?
|I'd wear it! on Mar 18, 2014 @ 01:18 pm|
For $99, this is a great dress. Maybe not for a really formal wedding, but these days more couples are having outdoor weddings (barns, parks, beachfront, etc) and this would be ideal for something like that.
The most important factor for a bride on her day is that she feel beautiful and confident. If that means she feels most confident in a $5000 dress, then she should absolutely do that (assuming she can afford it). But if a bride feels most comfortable saving the money, or putting that portion of budget into other parts of the wedding, why not? It's just a pretty dress that you only wear once.

I agree that spending a ton on one dress is crazy. What you spend on a dress has nothing to do with how in love you are, so why go overboard? This is a great dress but wouldn't suit my figure, otherwise I'd wear it. I've never liked strapless dresses, so this appeals to me even more. (I wore a strapless draped column in champagne colour - more formal gown than wedding dress - and got married at a vineyard. Kept my dress and hope I'll wear it again!)
Target is launching a couple of wedding dresses at this same price point. Not nearly as nice, but one of the two would suit my curves more than this one.

Personally couldnt see myself in it *I'm a vintage wedding dress style girl*. But it is def very pretty. Personally my dress will be made for me, but if I saw THE dress of my dreams, I think I would pay whatever it was worth. Oh Claire Pettibone....if only...if only lol

Beautiful and Classy Gown for a wedding on a very tight budget - nice to see the option!

This dress is very pretty but it is not for me. I would love to see it on someone though.

It all comes down to personal preference, but for me I just want to wear what makes me feel special, pretty, sexy, etc....I have been with my partner for 24 years and we still haven't tied the knot yet. We have decided that when we get around to it, it will be a small ceremony on a holiday somewhere foreign. I have already bought a dress (and yes it is white) which I purchased at Winners for $39.99. It's Guess brand name regular $99 but that doesn't matter to me. I just want to feel good while I'm wearing it, that's all that matters:)

It is pretty but when it comes to wedding dresses, I think it is even more important to have your own design. It doesn't matter if it is store bought, tailor made or created by oneself. Everyone's budget is different. To think that when graduates go to the prom and they are posting their dresses on Facebook or elsewhere to make sure no one else shows up with the same dress, how would one feel if they go to a friend's house and see wedding pictures of the same dress? And when wedding season is over, will they all show up on the clearance rack?

Personally I dont like the dress. It looks cheap. And thats the last vibe you should be giving off on your wedding day, of all days. I understand not wanting to spend 5000$ on a dress but I've had my prom dress custom made for me, and for material and sewing job, my perfect dress was made for me within a 300$ budget. I think I would do the same thing for my own wedding, besides, I like wearing someone of my own design.
|Gorgeous, but....... on May 24, 2014 @ 09:52 pm|
This dress is beautiful no doubt! As a bride-to-be in eight weeks this post intrigued me to check out this gown.
I love the price (I'm a total deal junkie) but... not really a style I could imagine for a Wedding. Gorgeous formal gown, perhaps for an occasion other than a bride's wedding dress : )
