High tea at Windsor Arms Hotel sounds tea-lightful (ohhh bad pun sorry!)
Haha- but that sounds awesome! I do see how your wardrobe could offer a predicament though. I think it is definitely a good idea to wear a dress or a skirt. It will probably be cooler then too so you'll need to wear pantyhose.
Because it is high tea, I say play the feminine, girly side of you up!
This dress is from modcloth and paired with a sweet cardigan I think it would be very cute!
A store like Anthropolgie or Urban Outfitters carries really vintage inspired adorable dresses, I love this one- it is a bit pricey but an inspiration piece it is great!
I would check out H&M;, we did a post on 'What I Wore to a Wedding' and Jenny found a great dress there. I would also look at Forever 21 for cheaper alternatives, a store like Mango or Zara as well.
I think the key to this is finding something comfortable, cute and at an appropriate length. Don't show off too much skin! Good luck in your shopping hunt!

I would wear either of these dresses, but I especially like the Anthropologie dress!

But before I put on the white gloves, I would call the friends that invited me and ask what they're wearing. I went to HighTea a few months ago and dressed semi casual. Glad I did cuz the other ladies there were dressed the same so I would have felt a little ridiculous if I'd upped it too much. If I were you I'd ask the friend that invited you what she's wearing and decide the dresscode from there.

I assume since this was posted in October you probably already went for high tea, and I am going to the Windsor Arms for high tea as well, I was wondering what you decided to wear and what others wore? I was hoping dark jeans, fancy top and a blazer is ok but now I am thinking jeans will not cut it. I don't want to go out and buy an outfit for one day so I would appreciate your input on what you and others wore! Thanks!!

Anonymous, I think what you are planning to wear is just fine. The blazer and nice top with a nice pair of shoes should be more than fine. Enjoy the tea!
|It was so pretty and girly and fun! on Jan 04, 2012 @ 10:25 pm|
High tea was indeed quite a while ago, however I can tell you what I ended up wearing...
A couple days before the event I found this absolutely stunning floor length 1960s asian floral dress with flowy sleeves. I fell in love with it and decided to wear it. I must say it fit the place, I felt very chick in it but I was totally out of place with my party. Everyone else stuck to knee length dresses. Other parties there wore nice slacks and tops...I guess depends on how your party will be dressing.
On a really funny note the only restroom is upstairs and when I had to go up there, there was a wedding reception going on where ALL the guests wore black....me and my super colourful dress didn't blend in to say the least....
Go, have fun and save room for the scones!

@anonym your dark jeans, cute top and blazer idea sounds perfect! It sounds very safe and I'm sure you'll fit in wearing that outfit, regardless of what the rest of the girls are wearing. Have funnnnn,....and those scones and teas are YUMMM!! My friends and I are planning to go again...can't wait :-)

I don't know if I would wear jeans, while darker jeans do look more formal and you can get away with wearing them at most places, I think I would stick to a trouser. But be sure that you go with whatever you feel most confident in!

|Thanks ladies! on Jan 05, 2012 @ 04:09 pm|
Thanks all! I am still thinking about the jeans, but I may call the hotel and ask if they are appropriate. My biggest problem was that I am in my hometown for a break from school and the majority of my clothing is back at my house at school (far away!) so I was limited in my options, and as I said I don't really want to purchase an outfit for one day! But I do have a pair of black trouser-style pants I can probably wear.
I am only going with one other person and she is also unsure of what to wear, the last time we went for high tea it was at a casual place on the east coast... denim all around! I'm sure we will figure it out, thanks for all your input!
