|Hollister and Pink on Nov 24, 2011 @ 08:01 pm|
Pink sells mostly sweats, underwear, bras and loungewear. It's pretty cute stuff- mostly they have logos on them. I think the underwear and bras might be a bit young for a 12 year old but I think most of the sweats and hoodies and tees should be appropriate- they do tend to have logos splashed across the bum, if you are sensitive about that it might not be good for a 12 year old.
For the most part, I think the clothes they sell at Hollister should be ok. To be honest, I've only been into Hollister a few times so I am not totally sure but from what I have seen, the jeans, tees and sweaters should be cute and appropriate. Only- I would worry about sizing too- sometimes 12 year olds are quite small and can fit in kids sizes.

Hah- I just realised I meant to say that the undies are too old- 12 year olds might be too young- but I think you got the 'jist' of it!

Depends on what you define appropriate I'd say and on your child's body type.
I know hollister sells sizes that are generally smaller (I wear their jeans cause I do find they fit well). However I do find the prices to be expensive for what they are so I'd recommend not spending too much on the jeans at least since they might grow out of them fairly quickly. In terms of other clothes, I find some of their stuff fairly low cut (tanks for example) but their hoodies and such might be okay.
PINK is more for loungey type clothes. I think its fairly appropriate (at least the pjs and lounge wear) for most younger kids since it is always full of bright colours and sequins.

I'd say for that age group, YES, PINK is pretty appropriate for the most part!! Like others said, sweats, yoga pants, hoodies, etc are all great for that age and the bikinis are cute too and not too 'sexy.' The panties are definitely too scandalous for a 12 year old though unless they are the 'boy cut."
As for Hollister, I believe everything there is okay...too expensive though!!

Most 12 year olds get clothes from Hollister and Pink. They are hot brand names that all young girls love. If you are asking for Christmas you have hit the jackpot when buying at these stores...any girl would LOVE a gift from there. Trust.

I've never really shopped at pink except for sweats and bra's.
However I shop at hollister like all the time and so does my younger sisters who are 11 and 12, Hollister is fine for 12 year olds, some stuff there you need to wear a tank top under, but the prices are really low and they are pretty good quality.

I think that shopping at Hollister and Pink is okay, as long as you're buying the right stuff. Hollister has some super short shorts and low-cut shirts that would be inappropriate for a 12 year old, but most of their other stuff is fine. Pink is great for lounge wear, but you might need to worry about sizing.

Holister has 50% off everything right now.. I think it's lasting for a few more days. I'd say clothing, no matter where you go, has potential to be inappropriate for a 12yr old, but once you're with her, or monitor what she buy, things will be ok. Just set expectations re what you will tolerate or not with respect to what she buys/wears
