I need advice on shoes with a sweater dress...

on Jan 02, 2009 @ 02:41 pm

I have a couple really adorable sweater dresses that I love to wear. I also have a pair of knee high boots that go very well with them. My only problem is that I'm a college student at a rather large campus, and my boots have a one-inch heel that hurts after awhile.

Is there a different kind of boot that I could wear- something thats still classy and stylish, but also comfortable for walking miles a day? I'm also looking for something not too expensive... about up to $150.

Thanks. :)

That might be a bit tough to find something that will look classy. But a stylish look can still be achieved with flat boots - go to www.aldoshoes.com and they have a ton of different boots that would go great with a sweater dress. Try purchasing a neutral color and then dressing it up with some funky stockings - or to be extra daring try accessorize your boots with a funky bracelet or pin.

If you still want some height - purchase a low (and I mean - low) platform. Higher platforms in boots tend to look trashy rather than stylish.

Lots out there on Jan 07, 2009 @ 12:01 am

I think you can find quite a bit for under $150. I bought a pair of
pretty nice flat black boots for $70. That was awhile ago though and
that was a really good deal. But they are synthetic and some people aren't a fan of that.

I think if you look around you can find some really nice flat boots for under $150. It might take some effort but they do exist.

Geox or Frye on Jan 07, 2009 @ 11:20 am

I have a pair of Geox from last winter that I get compliments on every time I wear them. They are black with a buckle near the heel and at the top. They are super comfortable and yet stylish.

I love these Frye boots, which are expensive but gorgeous and will last for a long time.
