I was wondering if anyone has ever tried the subscription shopping sites like JewelMint.com or StyleMint.com or Shoedazzle.com or even a site like birchbox.com
I am really curious about these sites and whether or not they are worth it. If you aren't familiar with these sites- basically, you pay anywhere from $30-40 a month to subscribe to the site. You fill out a style profile questionnaire and then each month you receive a new piece of jewellery, a t-shirt (from stylemint) or a new pair of shoes. With birch box you get sent a box full of delux samples for $10 a month. (Only available in US right now I believe).
I was checking out stylemint the other day and wasn't impressed with the selection but I loved jewelmint and shoedazzle too! Has anyone used these services- what were your experiences like?

I have an account with Shoe Dazzle! It's not bad and I think you only pay if you order something from your "showroom". I've just looked at it a couple times. I find the stuff they "choose" for me doesn't exactly reflect what I like. But the idea is pretty cool! I haven't heard of these other sites but I'll check them out.

Should check out Luxe Box, a toronto based version of Birchbox - http://www.loosebutton.com/ - ironically its run by an almost all male team (such a reverse from our office!) but I've ordered a couple boxes and love the concept.

I have an account at Shoe Dazzle, but I haven't purchased anything on there yet. I do not think it's worth it for two reasons: 1) In the States, customers do not have have to pay for shipping, this is not the case for Canada, and 2) A lot of the reviews that I have read from other people on shoes or handbags that they've gotten have not been that stellar, because of the lack of quality-then again, for a pair of $40 four inch platform shoes you get what you paid for. However I do love looking at the shoes on the site-they're really pretty.
|Shoe Dazzle, Just Fab, StyleMint, and Jewelmint on Oct 16, 2011 @ 02:15 pm|
I've tried a few. It's hit or miss with the 2 shoe accounts (JustFab and Shoe dazzle) and you get charged if you do not opt out by the 5th of the month. I have ordered bags from Just Fab that I love and I ordered shoes from the Who What Wear collection I do love but others I felt came off as cheap. Quality wise I found Just Fab to be better than Shoe dazzle but again it is always hit or miss. I stopped ordering from them for now because I find buying a pair of leather shoes that are just a little more per month the better deal. I've ordered from Jewelmint once and loved the piece I got but I think if you go to any store you might fight good accessories for a better price. Now Stylemint, I have to say surprised me. I have ordered 3 tops and they are great.

I just signed up for Fill the Container to check it out. There's not alot of info on their site, so I'll wait and see.

I am a member of shoe dazzle and shoemint. Not very impressed by showing. However, showcased I love! The selection of shoes are so trendy and fab. I ordered quite a few pairs and still hunting the website for more. Shipping is pretty expedite and very FREE. Accessories are amazing also own a few sets. Prices are good as well. My favorite part is the splurge vs. steal .

I have tried ShoeMint. I first signed up because there was a pair of shoes I wanted to buy, but I never bought another pair after that, only because none really caught my eye. It's easy to sign up, and even though I like the personalization of choices after completing your quiz, I like to see the entire selection anyway, so it's not really useful. But regarding ShoeMint, the quality of the shoe is good. They collaborated with Steve Madden, and I would say the quality is similar to Steve Madden shoes. Keep in mind that if you don't want something each month, you have to opt out within the first few days to avoid being charged. If you can remember to do this, I can't think of any negatives on joining!

I have used Birchbox, JustFab, AdoreMe, ShoeDazzle and True & Co....
I love Birchbox... I just started using AdoreMe and True & Co....
Birchbox gives me the opportunity to use different types of beauty
products that i generally wouldn't buy in a store. ShoeDazzle is good it
has gotten better the only thing i dont like is that they show u a
whole outfit wit the shoes and bag and jewerly but dont tell u where u
can get the actual clothing. JustFab is cool too..

Thanks for the tips! I should check the sites now :)

I have tried birchbox, beautyarmy, shoedazzle and justfab.
Justfab is in my opinion better than shoedazzle for various reasons. You can opt out eaxh month if you don't see anything you want, and they offer a variety of styles of shoes, handbags, jewelry, etc. They even have some cool deals time to time on otherwise pricey stuff.
I like beautyarmy better than birchbox because its a little cheaper ($12 per month) and instead of getting whatever they want to send you, you select the samples you want.
