nik05 | Would love to know as well! on Dec 15, 2009 @ 08:15 pm I've been wondering the same thing! Can't wait to see some replies here.
Last year was the first year I wore long-johns, since I had to walk to the metro everyday to get to work (I used to have a car before moving to Montreal...and had no need with a car starter..oh how I miss that! lol). I never wore skinny jeans then, so I didn't have a problem, you couldn't tell I was wearing long-johns at all under my jeans and dress pants.
I really need something to keep my legs warm this year! |
make-up-junkie | what would be cool... on Dec 16, 2009 @ 11:17 am is if jean companies made a thin lining in jeans for winter like they do for baby jeans haha. |
mizzrobin | they do make jeans like that.... on Dec 16, 2009 @ 12:06 pm ....but they are ugly. I have seen them out there..... |
snowqueen | I use layers on Dec 16, 2009 @ 01:55 pm I wear a thin legging underneath it helps. Especially when the cold wind is blowing. |
make-up-junkie | really?? on Dec 16, 2009 @ 03:06 pm I've never seen jeans that have the lining. I'm not talking about a fleece/jogging material as the lining haha. Something similar to a tight but maybe a bit thicker. |
meredithk115 | under armour of course.... on Dec 17, 2009 @ 03:01 pm I wear under armour....under my sweaters, pants, skirts....its functional, thin and WARM....
(but it's a bit expensive) |

| layers are always the best! on Dec 22, 2009 @ 12:29 pm
I'd recommend wearing a thin legging and tall boots. Make sure
your boots have a real liner and not just leather because it will be even
colder against the skin. I've also worn knee socks before and then switch
when I get in the office to ankle socks. I don't do well with the cold,
so bought wind resistant thin jacket to wear under my more stylish wool jacket.
The extra layer makes a world of difference! Another thing I'd
recommend would be the half ear muffs (ie. 180's) because they keep you warm,
but don't flatten your hair for work.

bubblybunny | pantyhose on Dec 24, 2009 @ 02:28 pm A tip from my coworker: Pantyhose! I have been wearing pantyhose for a week now and it definitely makes a big difference. You are not toasty warm but the wind and cold temperature becomes tolerable.
My coworker told me to cut off the feets (of an old pair of pantyhose w/ runs) b/c your feet sweats in the pantyhose and then your feet will freeze.
But I've been wearing my pantyhose with the feets and they are ok. Good enough for my 1 hour bus ride to/from work. :) |
ali-de-bold | silk long johns on Dec 25, 2009 @ 11:13 am I am always freezing in winter and one year someone bought me silk long johns. I think they were from Eddie Bauer or something, but you can get them other places. Because they are silk, they are very thin/sheer, breathable and warm. It's amazing how something so fine can keep you warm. This is something you won't notice under clothes, but it makes a difference for keeping you toasty :) |
 hot-cuppa | thigh-high socks on Dec 29, 2009 @ 01:25 pm
After years of silk and wooly long johns over-riding my lowrise jeans, I happened upon a secret-weapon answer to the problem of needing extra layers but not wanting the extra bulk at the waistline. Thigh-high socks! I think these type of socks are actually meant for tarty young teens to wear under their school uniform skirts (ha!) but they have become my go-to choice in winter because they're warm and wooly, but only go to the top of my legs without bulking up and over at the waist. Add a pair of panyhose underneath for the most magical combination. |
