The website QVC is making replicas of Kate Middleton's (/Lady Di's) engagement ring for just under $40. I tried to find out the estimated worth of Kate's ring 18K white-gold ring but couldn't find it.
I'm sure there's plenty of people out there who would love a replica, but what do you think? Would you feel cheesy wearing a replica?

It's a cool idea, but the word "replica" really just turns me off...
Gorgeous ring though!
|Just Googled it - on Nov 20, 2010 @ 02:25 pm|
It was actually a piece of the regular Garrard catalouge and therefore could be purchased by anyone for the hefty price of 28,000 British pounds, or the equivilant of $65,000 US (at 1981 exchange rate.)

I would never wear a replica ring. Jewelry is a very individual choice, so not all pieces suit everyone. Plus that ring has no special meaning to me, whereas it clearly means a lot to William and Kate.

I love sapphire and have always wanted a sapphire engagement ring, so when I heard that Prince William had given Princess Diana's ring to Kate, and that it was going to be a trend all over again I was kinda sad ... I HATE following trends!
That being said, I couldn't resist searching it online and found one that is very similar from Tiffany's for ... get this ... $121 500!!!
Here's the link:

But then there are gemstone sapphire ring for under 100 bucks ... what gives? Maybe someone who knows more about jewels than I do could enlighten me? lol
