What is your favourite kind of skinny jeans?
-skinny
- super skinny
- straight skinny ?

Flare magazine says that 80% of women will work with the skinny jean. Agree or disagree?

Straight Skinny on Jan 09, 2007 @ 07:19 pm

I really think the only kind of skinny a woman with hips larger than 34" can pull off is the straight skinny. I'm petite but look very hip heavy in ultra skinny jeans. I've found that straight leg skinny jeans are very flattering. My faves so far are Citizens of Humanity "Ava" though I think the price is outrageous.

Skinny but for short people? on Jan 18, 2007 @ 10:26 am

Can the skinny jean work for a short person (like me...5 foot 1ish)? I have not shopped around yet but I don't know that the skinny jean would work for someone my height.

I would think so on Jan 19, 2007 @ 04:25 pm

I'm sure it would work for those who are petite, I don't see how it would not...

I think anyone can pull that off. The right style will help make your legs look longer and leaner. If it doesn't, it's not the right style for you. I'm not tall either (5'5) so if I can do it, so can you!

Thanks ladies... on Jan 20, 2007 @ 05:56 pm

I will look into it. Any recommendations for shorter folks in terms of brands of jeans and where to get them in Toronto?

Over the Rainbow on Jan 22, 2007 @ 08:05 pm

I know Over the Rainbow on Yorkville has latest in designer jeans. They are expensive though, expect to pay about $300 for a pair. I'm sure they have all different sizes and lengths.

Another place is Jean Machine. They always have so many different sizes and styles to choose from.

free hemming on Jan 23, 2007 @ 02:06 pm

I've also heard that Over the Rainbow hems your jeans for free.

Nearly every pair of jeans I own is hemmed except for my Sevens. I usually get the hemming done at the Eaton Centre at the very bottom level. There is a place there called Sal Style (or something like that) and it's $11 for regular hem or $18 for european hem. They do a good job.

Body Blue denim lab (the danforth and queen street west) have great selection and fantastic service. They carry a lot of designer stuff.

If you want to get a really good deal, check out Five on Spadina (Spadina/Adelaide). I bought some diesel jeans there for $60 and they often have really big sales though not as much selection.

Speaking of skinny jeans and all that, what do you think of wearing tall boots over your jeans? I tried it a few times but felt kind of strange/uncomfortable - plus wearing my boots made me about 5'10!

5'10 with heels? What about us tall chickas? on Mar 17, 2007 @ 07:23 pm

My Dear, I am 5 ft 11 without any heels!

People always stare, I get looks ALL the time. But I never see it as a bad thing. People approach me about my nationality because I confuse them. It's quite fun actually. And when I wear high shoes, I'm thinking "That's right, these legs go on for days!"

It's all about how you feel. Tall shoes look better on longer legs.
If you are really feel uncomfortable, then I suggest not wearing them. Being tall isn't a terrible thing. It's an attention grabber, yes, but if you feel awkward then they are not for you.
