The perfect BAG

Hi Ladies

I've been looking for the perfect bag for a while now, and I thought I saw Hafsa carrying it in today's pose off, but false alarm.  She got it from a different continent! :(

Anyways, where do you usually get your bags?

I'm looking for something that I can sling across my shoulders and carry on my elbow (sorry if I'm saying it weird) too.  Big but not too big, durable but beautiful.

Any ideas?

I actually JUST bought a bag last night! And I think I was looking for almost the exact same thing as you!

I searched far and wide over Amazon.com and eBay, using mostly the search term "oversized satchel" which seem to come up with the bags closest to what I want.

However, I also found a great site, handbagheaven.com, which carries a good variety of bags for pretty low prices. I ended up getting the Daniel Double Satchel for its versatility. I'm SO excited to get it in the mail!

My only complaint is that the shipping is pretty pricy... the bag itself was only about 39 bucks but the shipping was 28. And that's regular USPS shipping! So in total I still paid 61 bucks which made me hesitate for a bit...

Any other details about your ideal bag? I can look around for you too :)

it really varies for me where I get mine.... on Dec 02, 2010 @ 03:36 pm

But look at this one from Danier, it looks similar to Hafsa's (mostly the colour)

I'm currently in love with this Rebecca Minkoff clutch:

What do you guys think? Honest opinion! Is it too oldish looking?

And I just did a quick browse through jewlerypayless.com and saw this:

Off topic but, do people actually buy rings like these for wedding purposes?

I found her! on Dec 07, 2010 @ 01:18 pm

I found the perfect bag of my dreams!! I mean my current dreams ... I dream a lot so don't know about the future, but definitely my current dreams.

It's a Guess handbag, not too big, but not small at all. Rather it looks small from the outside, but very roomy in the inside. It has medium handles (handles?? anyways you know what i mean) that you can use to carry the bag on your elbow or shoulder, and also has a shoulder strap / handle / thingie that you can attach to carry the bag around.. sorry today's not one of my most coherent days :(

anyways I will take a pic and upload .. but so far i'm LOVING this bag!! :-)

Yay!! on Dec 07, 2010 @ 02:14 pm

Oh no! Totally missed your post before this. The one from handbadheaven was nice too!
And yeah, I saw the rings... I think unless you're really broke, spending $40 on wedding rings is pretty darn cheap...

Congrats becky! take LOTS of pics! Front, back, side, and inside! :)

I hope (!) it would be as a last resort on Dec 08, 2010 @ 08:17 am

I can imagine that there are many people out there who cannot afford a nicer ring, and anything with a gem will usually be several hundred dollars in price. You can get plain gold wedding bands for under $100, but I bet some people still want the look of a more flashy ring, especially if it stands the casual glance test. With platinum bands and settings so popular these days, I think the sterling silver would fool someone not looking too closely.

(Note that I do not advocate for men to try to pass this off as the real thing to their fiancees; this should be a mutual decision!)

My best friend's hands swelled up quite a bit in the last month or two of her pregnancy, but she didn't want to walk around ringless (she worried some might think her an unwed mother), so they bought something similar to these in a larger size for the temporary fix. After she gave birth and the swelling went down, she put the knockoffs away for the next pregnancy.

So I think they serve a purpose when worn/given with the right intentions.

Still Pretty Though! on Dec 08, 2010 @ 09:39 am

Haha I'd totally get them just to wear around separately. They're so pretty!

I really love those eternity bands though, in classic white :)

Theres an a famous italian brand that just released a whole line of bags in this exact style & colour, varying in sizes and shapes, but they are everywhere there.
