Good for you. I love to go to them as I never know what I'll come home with. They have so much for so little.

I really miss Frenchys since I've moved to Alberta. The value villages are great but everything is so jacked up in price now that thrift shopping is actually popular. I remember the days when it was a core group of people who loved it and like me used it for stress relief. It was my "thing". Now it's so overcrowded and the "it" thing to do that prices are through the roof for stupid things. Even books are crazy expensive.

I used to live in NS. I could be wrong but I think Frenchy's is only in the Maritimes and eastern area of the states, Maine and such. Maybe someone else knows. It's very popular and typically super cheap. Then again I've lived in AB for the last 10 years so maybe prices are similar to value village now. I remember spending hours in there searching through bins and racks and finding amazing items. Most of the stock (to my knowledge) still comes from the states so tons of name brands. A few of my absolute best finds at Frenchy's were two authentic Prada purses, an authentic Gucci bag, a few Kate Spade bags, YSL pumps, and a high end designer velvet coat. I can't remember the designer (it was the 90's) but I remember thinking "cashier, please do not recognize the real value of this coat" as I was buying it. LOL. Same with the purses. I paid $2.00 for each purse!!! Coat was long icy grey velvet; very rocker chic (it was super fashionable at the time). I wouldn't have paid more than $10 for it.
I find Goodwill is becoming the same as VV in some of its stores in terms of high prices. Even knockoff designer bags like Coach, LV, etc are wayyyyyyyyyyy overpriced. I can still find designer items that are a bit less recognizable though so I feel like I'm beating the system hehe.
Sorry Tammy, didn't mean to hijack your thread. Great finds, as usual!
