I have a wide foot and I straight up just dealt with the pain. It wasn't quite like Chinese foot binding, but it wasn't comfortable. I got used to it. I wasn't going to get stuck wearing ugly shoes. Pain is beauty, unfortunately. So it fitness. So is everything, lol. Also, invest in good nylons or sockets. They make it easier to slide in there.

There are wide shoes and heels out there, they're just hard to find. Do not, ever, force your feet into a narrow shoe. I've lost count of the number of older women I've seen who's feet are misshapen from being confined in too-small shoes.
Payless is one store that I've seen some wide selections, not that many though. There's also Factory Shoe. Otherwise you'll have to scour the malls going to all the shoe outlets and straight up asking the sales person for all their wide shoes, which may only be a handful.

I agree wih glumbumble, Payless has a large variety of different shoes and sizes. And they specifically have wide shoes! My sister actually has wide feet as well and she always gets her shoes from Payless because there is shoes there that she actually fits and they are still super nice shoes! :)

Have you looked at Walmart? They sometimes carry the size wide. It will have a W on the tag. Or you could go to Amazon.com. They have lots of different products to choose from. Just type in the search box-women's wide width shoes and see all the items it brings up. Good luck-Ginger.

Search for specialty stores that meet your needs. Or you can try custom shoe services.
|SoftMoc and Old Shoe Dawg on Apr 11, 2015 @ 06:28 pm|
Not sure if you are in Canada or not - but SoftMoc has some great quality, comfortable, stylish and CUTE shoes that come in lots of widths - both online and in their mall stores. I have also ordered online from Old Shoe Dawg (which is based on the West Coast) and they also have a great selection of wider width yet stylish shoes. Both of these stores carry mid to higher end brands depending on your shoe budget. Good luck!

Thanks Snazzy, I didn't know about those stores. I think I have seen SoftMoc in passing at my mall, but I always passed them because of the higher price tags. I did notice though that they often have sales that make them at least a little more affordable.
I have wide feet myself, so I can feel Krissi's pain. I would love to get more short heels to dress up, but sometimes it feels hopeless trying to find a wide heel. And when I do, there always seems to be something else wrong with the shoe. I hope Krissi has more luck than me. I'm sure if I upped my budget a bit and went to SoftMoc or similar store I'd be able to find something that would fit. I could never order shoes online, I'm way too picky about fit. Same with clothes. I'm way too picky and am one of those people that has to try everything on.

I myself don't have wide feet but while shoe shopping online via the shopping channel I noticed that they have quite a variety of shoes that come in wide. It will have a W next to the size.
Krissibear, they had some really nice heals and boots available in wide, you should check it out!
