I'm an independent photographer. I don't use flickr though; I generally try to avoid sharing my pictures anywhere online actually because of copyright issues I've had to deal with in the past. What pics I do put online are generally used as avatars - such as the one I have here as my avatar right now. The other pics I have online are for my digital portfolio and whether they are in my portfolio or I'm just sharing them on my blog or something I generally have my copyright plastered right across the center or covering a key part of the image to try to discourage people from taking them... still doesn't always work but it still helps a lot.

I don't think you can compare photos by the sex of the photographer. Everyone is different, and I don't think sex really has anything to do with the photo that was taken. Photography is an art; everyone's creativity is different. I've seen many photos done by men that have that 'feminine quality' and photos done by woman that portray masculinity. I think it really depends on the person, not their sex.
