I've lived in Toronto for 20 years now and I've met people from Toronto
who have told me "you must be from the West coast". Everyone loves to
poke fun at Toronto because most provinces have a complex. Everything
in Toronto is bigger, faster, etc. But just like they have their
stereotypes of Toronto, a lot of people have stereotypes of BC - like
everyone from BC is a stoner. Ok, so the majority is but not everyone
haha.
Do I think the ad was clever? No. Wow, so Coors beer is
REALLY cold - that's the best u could come up with? I thought it was
funny though because it's such a typical thing to say of Torontonians.
I think it was the shock factor too because you just wouldn't expect a
company to slam a city like that.
That's just my 2 cents! |

Whether you think it's clever or rude, the campaign stirred some conversation. So even if you think it's a bad idea, it still worked people people are talking about it. |

...at stirring up attention. I thought it was somewhat funny but I tend to get Toronto defensive, especially since I moved to the other coast.... I love Toronto and know that people are not cold here but people over in the West seem to really think that the ad is true! I find it very annoying that many people I have met in BC think Toronto is this horrible cold place and yet they have never left the province of BC! |
