It just happened!! Or some explosion or crash or something.. I called my mom half an hour away and she felt it at her work too!
There's nothing in the news about it though yet, I guess it's too recent.
If anyone has any information I'd like to know about it!

|I didn't feel a thing in Windsor on Jun 23, 2010 @ 02:26 pm|
Although we've had a few small one's over the years. It's not something you expect to happen in Canada. I'll have to make sure I watch the news tonight. I hope your mom and you are alright.

Oops sorry Meg, I was so eager to start a thread on the quake I didn't see you beat me to it.
Check out the blog post for all the info available as of yet.
We didn't feel it in the ChickAdvisor office but my Dad felt it in our house in Richmond Hill.

You can turn on CP24 right now. They're doing a breaking news segment on it right now. I expect them to continue updating everyone for the next couple hours.

Feel it downtown but I was underground in the PATH and some of my coworkers in who were in the office felt it! My family felt it all the way in Whitby!

The last earthquake I felt in Vancouver was when I was 13 years old. Almost 30 years ago. It actually cracked the foundation of my grandmother's house, along with the basement windows. Scary. And then there was all that stuff when Mount St. Helen's exploded. We were swimming in ash in Vancouver for months!
We always got earthquakes when I lived in Indonesia. The worst one was when I woke up at 5AM on a remote little island, my ceiling fan swinging wildly above my head and everything falling off my shelves and crashing on the tile floor....and no way to get off the island except by boat. Which of course they would not use for 2 or 3 days after the quake, because of the ocean going all crazy afterwards. Very scary situation to be in. Can't go anywhere and have to hope the island doesn't just sink into the ocean! It was super tiny, could walk around the entire thing in an hour, so that was a very real possibility...........

Oh that's okay, I was actually on the computer when I felt it so I made a forum immediately (check the timing haha) and there was no news about it yet so I had no idea! I'll go check out the blog.
Omg Satojoko, that's so scary :( It's a good thing you guys were alright.

I was sitting on my chair and thought the cat was walking on the bars underneath it, and looked down. No cat lol. So I sat still, and I was still shaking with the chair haha.
|Montreal on Jun 25, 2010 @ 04:19 pm|
I'm in Montreal and we experienced it here too. I didn't really feel anything...I just happened to notice that my fridge was shaking a bit! At first I thought it was just due to some work they were doing in the building until a friend texted me about an hour later asking if I had felt the quake.

I sure did! thought something blew up nearby or something. An earthquake in Southern Ontario? Unheard of in the past.
