I find ever since we got our dog, people are really friendly when I am walking him. It starts out by talking about the dogs, asking type of dog and how long you have had them. Mind you in the future when they see you they greet the dog first. Is this true for everyone?

I normally don't talk to anyone, but I do find that people (or rather, dog people) are more apt to talk to me when I have my dogs. My landlord will be in her office with the door open, and when we get off the elevator one of my dogs is a barker and I'll hear her say "Hi, Buddy", knowing that it's him. So yeah, they greet your dogs first ^^ lol If someone else has a dog in the elevator I'm more likely to talk and ask what kind of dog it is if I am genuinely curious and can't tell for myself.

I grew up with cats and will always be a cat person, but I must admit that when we got Elvis from my husband's boss he turned out to be a fairly well behaved dog. People always make jokes about Elvis's name, but it was what he was called when we got him.

We live along a long gravel driveway that 7 of us neighbors share. The highway is way up from us, as is our mailboxes. I walk my Earnie up our driveway and if the neighbors are driving by and stop to talk, I will speak to them. All of us have lived back here for years and look out for each other.

I find people that own and walk their dogs are very friendly people. They talk to your dog usually before talking to you. I tend to be friendly with or without our dog, but I find it amazing how people interact when they meet other people with dogs. I have met some really nice people.

I always take my daughter with me when I walk the dog so I'll have someone to talk to. People are always stopping and commenting on how big my dog is. She's a 100 lb Great Pyranese. They usually ask if I'm walking the dog or is she walking me?

I must admit I ask people about what kind of dog they have. I had a neighbour before we moved that had a Great Dane and when it sat down it was as tall as she was. This was the most well behaved dog I have ever seen. Mind you it was also a show dog and was well trained.

Where ever I go with my little dog Molly I always talk to so many people saying how cute she is. People that own dogs or cats I believe are much more happier people and they love to discuss their pets and all the unconditional love they receive from there pets. It is a well known fact that pets help us live longer and healthier lives.

Chrissyann123 you are so right. I have read articals that indicate the pet owners have less stress in their lives, just by walking or petting their animals. It is a win, win situation for both people and animals.

I usually just profusely apologize for my dog wanting to jump all over them! She's big and she doesn't know it. But when I walk my parents' dog (a 13 year old small dog who is pretty chill), most of the time people coo at the dog first and then ask questions about her. Don't really stop and chat though, but I'm not much of a small talk person.

I will sometimes just say "hello" but if they start a conversation with me that's fine too! But I do like to just walk my dog in peace most days not that I don't like people it's just sometimes it's a nice way to clear my head and go for a walk with my dog.
