It's almost Chri$tma$ time!

My kids have been pouring over the big toy catalogues from Toys 'R Us and co as they've been filling our mailbox all week.  I always have a budget in mind for the holidays (not that my hubby abides by it, but still it's a nice idea in theory), but this year we'll probably be scaling back a little.

Are the rest of you also making trims to your holiday budget, or is this the one opportunity for the year where you say Go Big or Go Home?

I'm getting pumped! on Nov 10, 2010 @ 11:19 am

As soon as Halloween's over and stores start busting out their Holiday collections and decorations, I can't help but get excited!

I live in Toronto, but I'm heading to Pennsylvania for some fam time and Black Friday shopping after American Thanksgiving in a few weeks! The plan is to get all my holiday shopping finished that weekend. I'll be looking for deals but I will likely end up spending the same as I usually do on gifts this year.

planning this year....a first for me! on Nov 10, 2010 @ 09:11 pm

This is the first year that I am actually "budgeting in" Christmas! I
finally have a stable, fabulous job (blessed am I), and have been taking steps to really start making better use of my $. Normally, my credit cards are smoking right about now....but I decided to stick to my budget this year!

It's tough for me because I have seen a bunch of stuff that I would <3 to have (new boots, new coat, cozy sweaters, etc). However, I force myself to decide what is a need and what is a want. I would rather give the special people in my life something nice anyway!
