Oh that was too funny! I can't believe how well the cat was behaving. Mine would have been very angry. The cat's constant twitching if anything kept the baby's interest longer than if she had just tucked it under her body, almost as if she was enjoying the attention even if it was not quite to her liking.
The baby's reaction to the taste of her tail was also quite funny... and then in it goes for a second taste! Gotta love those kids :)

I don't know how they kept that cat from attacking that baby, but they
sure got lucky! See how the cats ear's went back and it even stuck it's
claws out, but it dug them into the pillow it was sitting on. I'd never
take a chance with a baby chewing on a cats tail, you just never know
when they will snap. That would be the end of that poor babies face and
maybe even the babies eye's. Some people just don't think before they do
things. Sure the video is kind of funny, but it sure isn't a safe to
let your baby do, no matter how well you might think you know your pet!!
i didn't notice that!!! on May 26, 2011 @ 02:57 pm
I hope that it was only a one-time event!!!
saw that too on May 26, 2011 @ 03:03 pm
I saw the ears go back too and wondered what would happen! For sure if my kid was doing that I'd yank them away from the cat right away. You're right Takoda - an animal is an animal and no matter how well trained or easy going can react in an unexpected way when irritated.
even so... on May 26, 2011 @ 03:24 pm
I couldn't help but laugh when the baby offered the tail to the cat with the "want some? :)" face....>___<

This is so cute. I was scared that the cat would attack the baby when the cat turned really fast to see what was happening to the cat's tail but I think the cat is really comfortable with the baby was just like: "Oh..it's you."
love it!! on May 26, 2011 @ 04:16 pm
Waow what a cute baby and what a well behaved cat!!
Cat's strangely enough behaves differently with different people. A baby (same age as the kid in the video) does the same thing with my cat, pulls on her tail, slaps her back, etc, and my cat just sits there with her tail extended, twitching it around. Now say if I tug on her tail, she will HISS at me.

I really think that pets, in general, acts differently towards children. It's so cute that they do.
