My brother is an aspiring writer. He spends all his free tim completing short stories and working on his first novel. As a writer he is a total bookworm and is currently collecting all the Rober Jordan hardcovers. With a VISA prepaid gift card I could find them online and easily pay using paypal!!
I love inspiring others and I can't wait to hold my brother's first novel (hard cover of course) in my hands.
"Stocking Stuffers" on Dec 14, 2009 @ 12:29 pm
My Mum still fills our stockings and puts them under the tree after we go to bed on Christmas Eve. Even though the my youngest sister is 25 years old!!! I love that Mum still goes to the trouble of "surprising" us. But my Mum lives in a small town and has a hard time finding things to put in our stockings... one year there was a box of tampons in mine... just because they took up room!! (LOL) So since I live in a big city I like to pick up things for the stocking to help her out. I have a few small things left on my list. My sister wants some salon style shampoo and conditioner that will help her with her static-y hair. (Any suggestions, by the way??). My brother is a cabinet maker, so I was thinking a gift card to Lee Valley Tools would come in handy. My Dad wants to start jogging... yes, in the winter... so I thought a good pair of mittens would be a good little gift.
And of course I wanted to get something for my Mum's stocking, which my brothers, sister and I fill every year. I want to get her a really good moisturizer for the dry winter days in Northern Ontario. Something high-end that she would never buy for herself! I am going to go hunting in Sephora this week!

I'd use the gift card for my Great Aunt. She's so amazing and has been like a Grandmother over the years to me. She's very fit (and 79 years old!) so I'd like to buy her something fitness related - ie. either a gadget or a health book. It's sounds like a strange gift, but I was thinking of getting her a pedometer so she can measure the amount of walking she does over the months.

It would be great to get a $50 visa card, our car just broke down and is going to cost us a lot of money to fix before christmas. We haven't started shopping yet since we are waiting to see how much the repair will be. Our sons want a new T.V. so the $50 could be used towards it. That would really help out. We don't want to tell them we have to wait until January for something.

I'd put that money towards a spa day in Halifax (found a great one that I've been dying to try out!)
Re-read the rules on Dec 14, 2009 @ 01:37 pm
After re-reading the rules, I think I'd put that money towards our (me and my fiance's) amazon list - .com not .ca - of all the things you can't seem to buy here, like certain books, etc. His list is fairly long, so it'd go a long way for sure!

If I won the $50 Visa giftcard, I would put it towards buying a Clarisonic!
Desk on Dec 14, 2009 @ 03:10 pm
I'd put it towards a new desk to get myself organized and fuel creativity!
...is it weird that I want a new desk for xmas?

Nope - I want a filing cabinet :D
...and a KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer, but that's been on my wish list for years.

Would totally buy books. I absolutely love buying books online (don't
ask me why, I just love it - something about getting packages?). Need
to beef up my fiction selection lately. Feel like I have too much
non-fiction that doesn't stimulate my imagination right now.
