I think this is such a funny topic. In this article by CNN it talks about 12 most annoying types of Facebookers. Ok, I'll be honest I am for sure the Self-Promoter, Let-me-tell-you-every-detail-of-my-day-bore. My husband and I had in interesting conversation about this because we're total opposites. I'm constantly on FB because I do a lot of work online and I'm always updating my status. I figure I can say what I want and whoever wants to read it or comment can or will. Yah, some things may be boring little details about my day or cute comments about my son but it's my way of connecting with friends/family/readers.
My husband rarely goes on FB and is very selective of what he says in his status which of course is smart. He's also not one for gushy mushy stuff on FB which I'm not either but me calling him "babes" he thinks is too much. I'm just so used to calling him that I don't even notice anymore. Now that we had that conversation I'm self-conscious now about what I write in my status.
What is your FB etiquette? Are you any of the 12?

Guilty! I looked at that list....
I love FB...especially since I moved to Canada (I am from New York). Its the best way for me to stay in touch because calling is expensive. I take every quiz, update my status 2 or 3 times a day and constantly comment on my friend's statuses.
I am proud to say I am a facebook junkie!

I don't fit in any of those categories! I am the chick with the camera and my friends are always waiting for their pics to be posted from whatever I have taken pics of...I use facebook to keep in touch with friends and family that don't live in the same city as me and to see pics when they tell me they have posted new pics of their children etc. It makes me feel like I am there even though I live at the other end of the country...

I'm all about the self-promotion on Facebook. Mainly because people friend me because of ChickAdvisor, not because I know them personally and people are always asking what is new with ChickAdvisor. I put stuff there so everyone knows what's going on. I can't be too personal there because you never know who is lurking... Still I try not to be too annoying, but if someone doesn't like it, they can always 'unfriend' me ;)

I have not yet joined the revolution.

When Facebook came out I was strictly against it. I know too many people who have been slammed on internet websites, who have had lies and rumours (as well as reveiling photos) posted out of anger towards them and I decided that internet social sites are just not for me. Still to this day I refuse to get Facebook but I have opened up my bubble a bit a joined Twitter and ChickAdvisor. I enjoy posting my feelings and ideas online now but I still am very cautious. I try to be in control of what I let people know about me now.
The only thing I wish I had facebook for, is so that I can connect with old friends and receive invites to parties. I often get missed if people are sending invites by FB. LOL I guess that's the price I pay :)

I don't use status update often and am probably overcautious about what I post. But I will check out what my friends are up to and any recent pics :)

I'm addicted to the Games...I love Farmville, Frontierville, Family Feud, Treasure Quest, and Treetopia!
I also love groups! Checking out what my friends from out of town are up to! Photos!

meredithk115 I read above that you just moved to Canadain and fine it to expensive to call home. Have you ever heard of SKYPE? You can talk to who ever you want where ever they live in the world for free. It's on line and it's free to join. All you have to do is have a web cam and your not only talking to your family and friends you can see them to. Just go on line and type in SKYPE and you'll be happy you did. I use it all the time to talk with our family that lives out west.
|nothing to do with the list on Jun 22, 2010 @ 10:42 am|
I can't take a look at the list because the computers and internet here is sooo slow. I'm on vacation in Vietnam and THEY BLOCKED FACEBOOK! I've been here for a week and a half and I'm dying to go on facebook just to check my notifications and messages! I don't have the notifications sent to my email so now they're just adding up while this country is holding me back from checking it! I have another 5 weeks left from my absence of facebook but at least chick advisor isn't blocked here =P
