When I was a "starving student" I used to make grilled cheese sandwiches using a clothes iron because our stove wasn't working and we didn't have the money to get the stove repaired. Later, when we convinced our scumbag landlord that he had to foot the bill to have the stove repaired, I still liked making my sandwiches with the iron because I got so good at it; I even had get-togethers where I "ironed" custom-made sandwiches for my friends!
WHAT STRANGE THING DID YOU DO (OR CURRENTLY DO) TO SAVE MONEY? on May 16, 2015 @ 11:07 am
I never throw away any thing I always find a way to reuse whether it goes to my to fertilize my garden, make a craft or to store items. I am also a coupon user and price match all the time. Great Post Pamalale. Happy Victoria Long Weekend !!!

Hi Patti, great post! I like to price match at Walamrt, buy our clothes during off season for the upcoming peak seasons, add a clean dry towel to the dryer when I throw a load of wet clothes in to dry (cuts drying time and saves on electric bill), I buy frozen fruit mostly (fresh is way too expensive), I leave the blinds and curtains closed on whatever side of the house the sun is hottest, thus saving by not having to turn on the air conditioner and I collect rain water to water my plants and flowers, thus saving on our water bill. Your friend in Georgia, Ginger.

I always price match & use coupons whenever i go shopping. I'm also a points collector, (HBC points, Air Miles,Pampers/Huggies rewards, Disney rewards).. once i have enough points i reedeem which ='s SAVING $$$
One of my biggest things is cooking at home, and i find that saves the most money.

Home cooked food tastes better anyway! :)
My experiences with price matching have been hit and miss at Superstore, where in some instances it takes so long with the cashier needing to page customer service for help that I just say "never mind". But yeah, price matching, when it goes smoothly, saves me time from running to different stores for the lowest price!
I don't know if this would count as strange.. on May 16, 2015 @ 09:50 pm
I use a reusable water bottle and only drink tap water. I rarely ever drink pop or juice. It's a great way to save money and stay healthy.
Re: Ironed sandwiches on May 16, 2015 @ 11:21 pm
I didn't think that was possible! Too funny

I like the one about the dry towel, didn't think of that! I will have to try. :)
