I was just talking to my neighbour who recently found out she was pregnant. I love those stories about the 'blue stick' moment, and thought it'd be fun to share!
What was your reaction? What was his? What about your parents? For real, now - not the Hallmark version ;)

I'll go first...
We had been married for 4 years, but having wed very young hadn't started to think about when to begin our family. The consensus was "eventually". I have to admit, though, that being young and stupid, our birth control methods were lackadaisical at best - either I'd forget the Pill or he'd "forget" his part of the bargain.
Being the first in my circle of friends to conceive, I was not really clued in to the symptoms of early pregnancy. My hubby had noticed The Ladies gaining weight, but that was no cause for alarm - only celebration. I missed my period, but didn't think much of it as I was somewhat irregular at that time anyway.
Three weeks went by and I was worried. Unwilling to trust a pee stick, I went to my family doctor for a blood test. She asked me all sorts of questions, to which I answered all "yes". The blood test came back positive (of course)!
My hubby was not able to come to the appointment with me, but had arranged to pick me up afterward. I slid into my seat, looked over and teasingly snarled "So, big fella. You knocked me up!" He, having been "sure" I wasn't pregnant, gawked, then grinned, then puffed his chest and nodded for a while. Yeah, he's the Man.
Shortly thereafter he urgently needed a cigarette. Gee, I wonder why?
