Has anyone ever ordered wholesale flowers from Bloomex Wholesale? (http://flowerswholesale.ca/) I've read some very mixed reviews about them and was wondering if anyone out there can tell me first hand about their experience. I'm hoping to order 85% of my flowers from them for my wedding. Good idea or bad idea?

I have no experience with them nor am I familiar with them, but as a general rule of thumb... if the reviews are very mixed as you say, I'd consider something else. You will have enough to worry about on your wedding day. Congrats, by the way!

I know people who've ordered successfully from Grower Direct and even wholesale from Safeway! It really depends on what you're ordering. The more elaborate bouquets are best from a corner florist as they can fix last-minute glitches. If you're simply ordering stems by the bucketload (eg. long-stemmed roses for vases, or simply tied with a beautiful ribbon for your bouquet), there's little a wholesaler can do wrong (assuming they send you fresh blooms).
What about a trial run? Can you order flowers for someone's birthday or for another function that's "not as important" as a wedding (you get what I mean - every event is important)?

Thanks for the advice! Yes, I was thinking of doing a trial order as well to figure out quality and arrival times etc. I was aiming to do some basic table arrangements with the stems I'd order from them. Perhaps I'll do some more research on good companies in the Toronto area that would sell stems (roses ideally). Misschickie - I know what you mean - why risk the added stress if there are already red flags.

Hello MoneyPenny - just noticed your query here.
Hey, another option - in my opinion a better one! Fire off a quick email to email@example.com, tell them that Brian sent you.
Get them to give you a call back and I guarantee you, you won't be disappointed! I know for a fact that all of their flowers (roses included!) come from southern ontario, and get shipped direct from the growers. They're based in St. Catharines - so you're supporting local Ontario economy!
Have ordered from them several times and have not been disappointed.
(you might wonder what I'm doing on "chickadvisor" - I was actually checking out google links regarding Bloomex...)

I was a little disappointed with Bloomex but must say the customer service was excellent. A long story short, I order sunflowers about 2 weeks ago to find out afterwards they were not available ( which I found shocking, considering it’s the season). Bloomex sent Calla Lilies instead, I was not impressed and expressed this to them. Bloomex sent out Gerber daisies the flowing day, still not Sunflowers but the effort was appreciated.

Is it just me or are you noticing most of the positive comments are coming from users without anything else on their profiles besides this one comment? Makes me wonder if they're real responses or not.
