Coconut oil

People are always praising coconut oil as if it's a miracle substance. I've used it in the past to deep condition my hair (heat it up then apply to hair a couple hours before showering) but people have suggested using it on the face and body every day and stuff like that. For those who do this, what benefits have you noticed? Do you just use normal coconut oil or is there a different one you buy? Doesn't your skin feel heavy and greasy afterwards?

I turned to coconut oil after my son had a terrible diaper rash as an infant and he hasn't had a rash since using coconut oil as diaper cream. I also use it on his skin when is gets really dry and it works wonders. I have also used it on my psoriasis and it's disappeared. So I can vouch for it. But I'm sure it work differently for people, it does seem a little heavy and greasy, but it's worth it, for me atleast. We use the organic cold pressed Coconut oil from Costco.

I also wanted to add that I have eczema. I use hydrocortisone (steroid cream) which is soo bad for my skin but it's the only thing that helps get rid of my eczema patches. Has coconut oil helped anyone with their eczema/really dry skin?

I agree it works differently for everyone. I use coconut oil all the time on my hair, skin, teeth, to cook with, etc. When using on my body i mix a bit of coconut oil in with my lotion/cream. I havent tried it on my face...yet

I also use the organic cold-pressed coconut oil from Costco :)

You want organic unrefined coconut oil which is the purest kind you can get. I use it morning and night and my skin is always moisturized and my pores have shrunk, my lashes have grown, no more breakouts and my sun spots are gone that were on my chest. Not only that but i use it as a shaving cream and my legs feel amazing and my nails have hardened.

I apply it after shaving as a moisturizer and I love the way it makes my skin feel! So moisturized and smooth!
