Do you find that customer service is getting worse in Canada? I've had terrible experiences this past few months.

Yes I agree especially in bigger companies, they don't care
I am actually a customer service manager so I know how customers should be treated so it really drives me crazy

It's pretty nice here from my experience, but I've had a few bad ones! Especially being in Quebec, sometimes you get looked down on when you speak english.

I find its hit or miss.
Most of the time my terrible customer service comes from Rogers. The other times its in random stores. Usually if my husband is with me he will call the person out or make a snarky remark to the person.

I haven't had any problems usually works out for me. I returned a part box of Belvita cookies th first one ok the second smashed to bits. Was to Walmart got a refund never have a problem.

Yes. I don't even bother going into B & M stores anymore. I much prefer shopping online.

i'm pretty good at complaining in a way that gets results, but you have to go in with a solid explanation and a resolution you'd like to see. also there's almost no point in complaining to store employee's as their hands are generally tied. i personally find going directly to the company through their site works the best. But as someone on the forum said it depends on the company. Some have great policies and some have none.

having recently been on the other side with a seasonal job, my manager apologized, I apologized personally for accidentally overcharging a customer, the money was refunded and they still weren't happy about it. I'm not certain what else could have been done, it was a fairly common error, and restitution was made, so as a customer you have to be realistic about what you expect.

in the end where you have a choice vote with your money. if you can't get the service you think you should get from a company, almost everything is available in more than one location, so choose to purchase it where you feel you get good service.
