Have you ever been to NYC?
If you have not, I would suggest you spend most of your time in
Manhattan although shopping in Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island is
AWESOME. There are a ton of awesome rooftop bars/clubs/restaurants....
ahhhhh where do I start (I am from New York....)
As for accomodations, you will pay more, but I would stay in Manhattan....public transit in New York can be overwhelming. |

We booked our hotel when I went on priceline - you can get GREAT deals on a place to say using that. First check on hotwire and then bid a little bit below what you find there (or if you find exactly the place you want on hotwire, book it there, you'll still save lots of money)
in terms of shopping - there aren't too many great deals in the city - BUT century 21 is worth a visit and if you're really looking for shopping deals than there is a huge outlet mall in New Jersey (there is a free shuttle from Newark airport)

I would also check out some of the stores they have in the SOHO area. I also agree with torgrl and check out the Woodbury Common mall in NJ. |

I'd recommend checking out Century 21 - http://www.c21stores.com/ It's like Winners, but much better!
Also, you mentioned you were wanting to take in some of the main attractions. You should look into getting one these cards: http://www.smartdestinations.com/new-york-attractions-and-tours/_d_Nyc-p1.html I bought one for Chicago and it was such a good deal! |

NYC now has a traffic free zone around times square. I would suggest that you look at greatgirltrips.com for ideas. The website has a itinerary for NYC and provides free travel information for women groups. N |
