Hi every one. I just need to vent a minute I guess. Today was our oldest grandson's graduation from Kindergarten and I had the day all planned out for he and I. His Mom had to go back to work, so I was going to take him for a day of shopping and eating. I woke up this morning vomiting from the chicken I ate the night before from a restaurant. Needless to say, I didn't get to go to his graduation nor spend the day with him. I feel like such a failure as his Grammy for not being there for him. I've sat and cried today in between running to the bathroom. I think the chicken was bad and I called them. They offered me a free meal!! NO thank you, I told them. I don't want our little guy disappointed in me, even though I am in myself. Have any of y'all had to miss an important event because you suddenly got sick. I had my outfit, jewelry and camera all laid out for this morning. Needless to say, I've been down in the dumps today. Sorry to lay all this on y'all, just needed to vent about it and see if anyone else has been through something like this. Take care and I wish all of you a wonderful weekend, Ginger. (You all are awesome!!)
|What a horrible situation :( on May 22, 2015 @ 09:01 pm|
I am so sorry to hear that Ginger.. I hope you get well soon! That is such an unfortunate turn of events. And to miss such an important day all because of a restaurant served undercooked meat. I would be infuriated myself so it only makes sense that you need to vent out your frustrations. It feels good to vent and get it all off your chest. It's nice to know you can come on Chick Advisor and there are very kind Chicks to talk to. :)
Don't take it out on yourself either because it's not your fault at all. When you're sick you're sick and you need to take care of yourself first and foremost to get better and rest.
I have had similar situations where I have had to miss important things or where I went to an important event and it ended up not going as planned. One of my Birthdays was ruined before because of the actions of some of my "friends" needless to say they are not in my life anymore as they back stabbed me one too many times to count.
I really hope you are feeling better! And you can always make it up to your grandson by planning a fun day with him. :) have a great weekend Ginger and take care.

Kylee, you're such a dear sweet girl. Thank you so much for the kind words. I talked to him a while ago and he understands. We are planning a sleep over for Sunday and a day of shopping Monday. I hope it all goes well. I don't like to disappoint my kids or grandsons. I'm sorry to hear about your friends stabbing you in the back. I'm glad you're not friends with them any longer. I've learnt that just when you think you know someone so well, they show their true colors. You are a terrific girl who anyone would be lucky to count you as a friend! Thank you again Kylee for the great words and I'm feeling better now. I hope you have a wonderful weekend with warm weather. Take care, Ginger.
|He's lucky to have you! on May 25, 2015 @ 11:00 am|
For you to be so upset about missing his graduation, he's lucky to have you as his Grammy! It shows how much you love him and care about him to be there for such nice events.
In this sitatuaiton, there was nothing you could do about it, and it wasn't your fault at all so don't feel disapointed. I think that's great that you have already planned something to make it up to him, and I'm sure he can't wait to spend some time with you! I've been in a similar situtation where I had to leave my father & stepmom's wedding early a few years back because I got sick from some food I ate earlier in the day. It was so upsetting not to be able to attend the event in full, but they understood as they knew (like in your situation) it was the restaurant's fault!

Please don't feel to bad I am sure your grandson knows how much you care about him because of all of the caring, attension and love you have given him. I am sure he will understand. It sound like you had a case of food poisoning which can be just awful to go through. I am sorry that you are sad and sick. But there was really nothing you could of done if you would of went you would have been in the bathroom most of the time. So try to get yourself better and try not to be so hard on yourself Ginger. It was not your fault. Try to have a good day and I hope you fell better my beautiful friend.

I've been there before. It's not your fault.
Rest and take care of yourself.

That's sad that you had to miss the graduation. Try not to feel too terrible about it, as the situation was out of your control. The fact you have already planned another special day for the two of you says it all right there. Chin up, Grammy Ginger... more fun days with the boy are ahead. ((hugs))

Thanks so much Kylee. I am having a good day. It was our long weekend since today is a holiday in the US. It's Memorial Day today. My husband and I are having a relaxing day and not going anywhere. He's working on a project in his shop and I am doing a bit of housework. Nothing major today. Take care Ginger
