A good friend of mine is having a housewarming party this weekend. I want to get her a gift but not sure what to buy. She's pregnant, so I don't want to bring a nice bottle of wine since she can't enjoy it. She is moving from an apartment to a brand new house, so I have seen some of her furniture (most dark colour, leather stuff).

I always love receiving plants for housewarming, especially something potted that I can keep. During our last move (and it was during the winter), my friend brought us potted daffodils. I kept them in the house until it was warm enough, then I planted them outside. 4 years later, they are very healthy and remind me again and again of my friend's thoughtfulness!
However, if she's not a plant person you might try some home fragrance products. I have been enjoying the new scented oil products from Glade, especially the Spiced Rose & Vanilla. They are so inexpensive, you can pop them in a gift basket with whatever else you are getting.

A plant is a GREAT idea! I bought her a pot of orchids, the flowers are small but there were about 10 flowers blooming plus a few more buds. It's a gorgeous plant. Thanks for the suggestion, mamaluv! :D
