Honestly, I am just new to tweets. I dont understand what the #hashtags mean and what they do? I tried to post some tweets, didn't see them, re did them then I had duplicates. Also so you have to tweet that person then they have to re tweet it to actually post it on their twitter? OMG I feel so out dated and I am only 37 years old LOL..Any tips or a step by step would be very helpful
Thanks.. I am a very lost Ninja..

Don't worry, I was the same way a few years ago and everyone looks at me like I'm from a different planet! Here's a simple version on how twitter works;
Hashtag - it's to emphasize your tweet, so if you go under search, put in the hashtag, you will find all the tweets pertaining to that subject.
i.e. #ChickAdvisorShowcase, you type in that hashtag, you will see all the posts regarding the Showcase, pics etc.
When you want to send a tweet to a particular person, you type in @ and the person's handle
i.e. @ChickAdvisor, you will directly send a tweet to ChickAdvisor.
Yes, when you retweet something, it will then again send a message to the original tweeter that you have retweet.
To make it easier, when you see a tweet, when there is a @ symbol and the person twitter handle beside it, it will send that tweet all the people in that tweet including retweets.
Here's an example;
@ChickAdvisor, @jujusamples @MissNinja #Learninghowtousetwitter!
That tweet will go to all three parties and if someone retweets that, it will go back to all of us again.
Hope that helps!

if you are unsure and want to check if you have tweeted correctly, click on your profile picture and go to home page. It will show all your tweets.

I am also clueless of tweeter myself!
I just chose not to use tweeter.. I can't keep up with FB and Instagram enough to get another social site account.

I had the same problem but then i got the hang of it. I notice that if your twitting with the app on your phone, sometimes there's a delay and it wont show up right away. Mine usually has an icon on the phone itself, letting me know that my tweet has been posted.

Twitter is fun if you want to follow certain people and I know people with blogs love it because it is easy to share and market certain products. :)
LOL OMG, I thought I was lost in the world when I had to ask my brother "what's a hashtag a few years ago"! I remember the girls sitting behind us at the restaurant stood up and gave me a weird look. Now I know it's not just me. :D
|WOW super thanks juju, karma, and jayveln on Oct 12, 2016 @ 01:03 pm|
thanks JuJu It helps tons. I still don't totally get it, because I sent 2 tweets to @ChickAdvisor but didn't see them on their twitter feed? do they decide what they want to post and if someone send me a tweet, does it ask me if I want it to post or not or does it just go up on my feed? No on has sent me a twitter LOL I am just following @chickadvisor and @samplesource. It is a bit much I think like Jayvelin said. I have Facebook and instagram and i haven't figured out instagram either. Do you need a cell phone for instagram? Yep, I do no own a cell phone either. Im total old school, I did have one, it got soaked in water and I wasnt able to save it even with the rice trick, blowdryer etc.

That is the right handle for ChickAdvisor! Generally, I get a reply back from them, with thanks or a like. Set your twitter up to link to your email. That way, it makes it a lot easier to get replies and liked. You will get the notification from your email and on your Twitter page as well.
With Twitter handles that are more popular, such as ChickAdvisor, and SampleSource, it's really hard to find your tweet on their page. Sometimes, you don't see it at all (maybe due to the volume and the way they set up their settings) As long as you see it on your feed as a tweet and you got the correct Twitter handle, your tweet has been sent.
In regards to Instagram - You do not need a cellphone, but you can not load pictures to your Instagram without having the app on your cellphone. It was invented and intended for people to snap a picture and is able to load and share it right away. You could browse, like and comment on your computer but you wont' be able to upload any pictures.
