My cat has the worst smelling breath. He only eats crunchy kibble but his breath is unbelievable! Any ideas on what to do about it? I'm at my wit's end. Thanks everyone.

How long has your kitty had bad breath for? Has it always been persistent or has it just come up in the past couple of months? If it's recent, it can be a possible mouth/tooth infection because the bacteria always causes a bad smelling odour - if this is the case, go to your vet and they will prescribe a short-term use of something. This just happened with my cat...

If it has always been like this and is a long-term issue, there are some nice kibble treats that help with tartar and odour. Major pet stores like PetSmart and PetValu have a bunch varying in price! My favourite that I use is a spray which you spray in their mouth and it cleans the teeth without brushing, and covers the odour.

Yes, it's always been like this. Do you know the name of the spray you mentioned? I would like to try it.

The brand is called Lebalab Inc., and the spray is "Leba III." I will
warn you it is pricey, but it lasts for 245 uses and it has worked
really well for my cat. It cleans and gets rid of that smell. You can find it for cheaper on Amazon though!

Cats Breath on Feb 15, 2015 @ 08:13 pm

I have two cats and they are 13yrs old now.I rescued them from a shelter when they were only little kittens. They are Brother and sister,I called them Molly and Jake after my favorite soap actors. They have never had a bad odour in their mouths.Maybe the reason being is that,I always gave my cats Greenies Treats for their teeth.T.What can I say,I aman animal lover and I love my cats he female Molly has Arthritis really bad in her hind left leg.I take her to the vet every three weeks for a needle to take the swelling down and we give her a medication called Medcam every morning in her food for pain.I have these little foot stools all over the house in case she wants to get up on something. What can I say,I love them to pieces.
