Well, the coolest job for me anyway!

I'm now the official team photographer for a new pro hockey team using the local arena in my area as their home ice! The coach is my brother's old high school coach, and he's doing a lot to help get the league and team going so that really helped me a lot. The team was holding tryouts today and I was asked to go take pictures... fully expecting to be there just for that and a quick interview. Well when I got there I was informed that I already have the job! Apparently my online portfolio was enough for them to make their decision. =)

I'm going back tomorrow for the final tryouts and to talk about payment and all the business-y stuff and to take more pictures. Fun fun fun!

I love photogrpahy and I love hockey so now I get paid to take pictures of hockey! haha YAY

thanks ladies! on Oct 08, 2007 @ 09:47 pm

It has been a very busy couple of days but I *think* by the end of the day tomorrow I will be done with everything I need to handle before training camp starts . It's been a lot of fun already and I can't wait for the season to start! I still have not been told if the team will want me to travel with them or not. I hope they will but I just have to wait and see. Either way I'm just going to make sure I have fun with it and build up my portfolio and maybe some day I can work my way up to working with the NHL. :D

Congrats Feisty Redhead! Sounds so amazing and interesting, especially the prospects of traveling with a hockey team. You get to travel and do what you love to do at the same time...I'm so envious!
