I'm going on a plane for the first time ever in Dec and am excited but scared. Any good advice out there for me?

Next year I am going to Costa Rica and I have never been on a plane before either so I am super nervous. I have been reading about different things to do on a plane, like drawing, writing in a journal, watch movies, sleep, knit, crochet, make jewelry, listen to music, plan what you are going to be doing when you arrive at your destination, basically anything that will distract you until you arrive.
I'm probably going to need to bring my anxiety meds with me as well because I am so anxious about going on a plane.
But think of it this way a plane is safer then being in a vehicle. There's way more car accidents then there is plane accidents.

let me tell you from someone who flies several times a year
and you would never guess from all the crying / panic attacks/ fear I have....
only option is 2 or 3 glasses of red wine (for me!)
and then I can relax, and talk to stewardesses and be happy.
Very unfortunate but can't fly without wine....

Yes I think there is more car accidents; never thought of that. I will probably be too uptight to knit etc. though. I'll have a few drinks before I board.
