If you have experience with your dog suffering from inflammation related issues like arthritis/osteoarthritis, what have you tried in terms of supplements or natural products that have helped?
The vet recommended glucosamine tablets and he's been taking them for about a year now and he seems to be in less pain. I recently heard from a friend that Omega-3 might be better. Anyone tried this yet?
How about turmeric for dogs? If so, how do you incorporate it in their diet?
Thanks in advance!

I had a dog suffering and the vet recommended the glucosamine and turmeric is good also and easy to mix into the food. There is also a mussel, no not muscle, based anti inflammatory med called Zyflamend that is good. One of the worst things you can give a dog with arthritic problems is milk and/or dairy products as it tends to tighten up the muscles.I was also advised to try to get her to walk daily as the exercise is good. I also used to massage her and this eased her a little.

My mother in laws dog had arthritis. She found glucosamine helped a bit. Making sure she had no wheat helped a bit. She was on a pain reliever called Metacam in the morning and supper time. The moves to Arizona, which really helped. I think the heat helped her. Good luck.

I'll have to ask the vet about the meds you both mentioned. Thanks for your input!
