I just came across a picture of what Miley Cyrus was wearing (or should I say not wearing) to the VMAs. Basically, she showed up practically naked to the point where I don't understand why she even wore what she did because it doesn't really do much to hide anything.
What I don't understand is how women have been arrested these past few weeks for protesting about the right to go about topless, and yet Miley Cyrus is allowed to show her naked body in public and is praised for it.
While I don't agree with going topless in public, I do think it's getting to be very hypocritical when celebrities are allowed to do what the general public would be thrown in jail for. There's a whole hidden agenda behind applauding people like Miley Cyrus who are teaching the young girls of today to treat their bodies like a toy for everyone to gawk at instead of something sacred and special.
What do you all think?

Honestly i cannot stand miley! The way she acts while barely wearing anything.. Disgusting.. As for toplessness i really do not agree with that either. Todays world has to many predators out there...

There are two Laws, one for the normal people and one for the crazies, and Miley just happens to be one of them.I guess she has to show her topless body because her Face if nothing to look at.If I had a Daughter like her,I think I would either disown her or have her committed somewhere. The girl has no shame and ,is very disrespectful to other young Women out there.Anything for attention I think. It makes me wonder when I see young people doing something like this, what kind of up bringing did she have,do we blame the parents?I don't kow but I would be embarrassed to be associated with something like this. Not a good example for our teens today at all.I guess when you have money and somewhat of a celebrity, they can do what ever they want but "being normal",there's a limit to what you can get away with, before they carry you off to the slammer.

I did watch the VMA's last night and enjoyed the show. I also seen Miley Cyrus's parents were in the audience. I felt kind of bad for them or should I say embarrassed for them. I try really hard not to judge other people but I agree she should try to set a better example for the young girls out there. I think Miley Cyrus is a pretty and very talented singer who does not need to show her body to create all this negative attention or shock value. Hopefully it is just a phase she is going through and will come to her senses.

Hi sjm79! I agree with you. All I could think was that she looked disgusting and was trying way to hard to get noticed. It feels like she's aiming to be her version of Madonna 2.0, but she's just making herself look like a fool in my opinion.

Hi angelwingsx2! You're absolutely right. There does seem to be two sets of laws and the problem is that so many of these young celebrities are considered role models to our younger population. It worries me to think how much of an influence they'll have on their minds. I just hope parents are discussing this with their kids. I know that so many young children/tweens/teenagers are listening to her music and look up to her because of her Hannah Montana days.
In fact, it seems that all these young celebrities are being launched as good and wholesome, gain their audience and after a few years in the business, their sexual and bad/rebellious selves emerge out of nowhere. They all seem mind controlled to me and as though they all serve the purpose of brainwashing whomever is watching them.

Hi chrissyann123! I really don't understand how her parents could just stand there and find what their daughter wore to be acceptable. Granted, they know she's getting paid big bucks to do so, but at some point, enough is enough. Only they know if they've tried talking to her or if they're actually supporting this behavior. My greater concern and wish is that the parents of the kids watching her on TV have had a talk with them to help them realize how disturbing this is.

I agree Prettyrainbow, she is trying to be her own version of madonna..But in my opinion madonna did it with more class.. Miley before becoming a singer was a role model for alot of kids and i fell she should have a little more respect for herself and others... I could not imagine being her parents sitting there watching her... If that was my daughter up on that stage acting the way she does i think i would drag her off lol.....

I agree with all of you ladies.

I think she is all about the shock factor and just wants people to talk about her. Her attitude is horrible.
