Hi I'm thinking of taking my boyfriend to NYC for his birthday but don't have a clue where to go/stay. Anyone familiar with this city who could suggest a cool B+B?

They have a double decker tour bus that goes all around the city. You hop on and off whenever you want - it stops at places like Empire State Bldg., Battery Park, Central Park, madison sq. garden, plus other neighborhoods, so you can stay as long as you want at those attractions, have lunch wherever, then hop on the next bus when you're ready ( i think it runs from like 10 am to 6 pm or something like that). I don't remember the name, but I know I got a AAA discount, so I'm sure any travel site will have info on this. It's a great way to get a bird's eye view of the city, especially on your 1st day there, then the other days you can explore more in depth. I've only done NYC as a day trip, when I visit family in NJ, so I really don't have any recommendations other than the bus, since that's all we did (other than the traditional statue tour and ellis island). Yeah it's touristy, but that's the fun of it. Check out frommers.com for reviews on attractions, restaurants, etc. Also Budget Travel might have info on their website of things to see.

Thanks! I'll reveal who I am after. My guy sometimes reads stuff here and I don't want him to find out. Any other pointers would be great. Anyone know of bike tours where you rent bicycles and ride around town with a group? This can be a really fun thing to do in some cities.
