Online video sharing

I want to share a video of my baby with my friends and family. I've been using Picasa because I can make the album public so people without a Google account can view it without having to sign it. But at the same time, I will have the option of not putting the video on the "main roster" to share with the world on the main Picasa photo page as the "newest photos/videos". The people who will see the video are ppl who has the exact link to the video.

The problem with Picasa is that I have one video that's really big and I think it uploads funny. So the sound and the video doesn't actually match. I tried YouTube but the problem is that I can't make the video private without asking my friends and family to sign into YouTube. I have family members who are not internet savy and would never go through the trouble of signing up for a YouTube account.

So are there any other video sharing website that people use for free?

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't want my baby's video to show up on YouTubes's "Most Recent" videos but at the same time, I don't want my friends/family to have to sign up with YouTube to see the video.

Are there any other options?

Zshare/Rapidshare on May 16, 2009 @ 11:52 pm

I have 2 options for you:

1) You can upload you video to Zshare (http://zshare.net/) and you'll receive a link that you can email to yourself and your friends so that you/they can watch the video directly online. As far as I know, Zshare doesn't have a "public" welcome/search page like Youtube does...so your privacy shall be intact :)

2) Upload your video file on rapidshare(http://rapidshare.com/) and similarly, email the link to your friends. Once they click on the link, they'll be prompted to download it onto their computer and view the video. (takes some time-- depending on size of file)

Main difference: Zshare-->they can view it online with just a click
Rapidshare-->they will have to download it on their computer

I've never heard of those sites. I'll definitely go and take a look. This is exactly the kind of help I was hoping to get.

Thanks dizzyonlemonade!! :)

I guess randomly surfing the web teaches you a thing or two (in my case, at least) hehe, no problem. Hope it worked for you :)

I went with zShare. Exactly what I was looking for. I did read that
some ads on zShare phishes but I just told people not to click on
anything but the video. I think it worked well!

Thanks for your suggestion!!
