I have recently discovered this Price Matching thingy and love it!!   I now do most of my grocery shopping at Real Canadian Superstore or sometimes Walmart Superstore and they will price match to almost anywhere in my area.   Why travel to the different stores with differnt specials - no way!!  Anyone else love to get a good deal!  I am frugal, ok really cheap but damnit I work hard for my money and I deserve to get things at a better price!!

I do it too! on Jan 11, 2014 @ 12:20 pm

I price match sometimes too, and I love it. I've never done it at the grocery store before, only because I don't know if they do it. But, I've definitely matched at Walmart. It's a lot more convenient for me than having to run around to multiple stores.

not all stores price match on Jan 11, 2014 @ 03:02 pm

Check with your grocery store. Most do but not all. I know the Zehrs in my area doesn't and I don't think that Loblaws does either.

Yes, you can save a LOT of money...Giant Tiger now price matches, although their selection is limited. If you are organized, and have the time, you can cut your grocery bill by 30%, in the convenience of one store. Add coupons to the deal, and you may walk away with products for free or close to it!

Price Matching Stores on May 09, 2014 @ 10:31 pm

No Frills and FreshCo (limit of 2 on everything at my location) are other stores that have price matching. For those who are not familiar, you must hold the current flyer to be able to price match. Electronic copies to not qualify. Hope that helps.

Good for you shejoc, I am glad I read your post. I forgot all about price matching and I used to do it all the time. I guess when I learned about coupon stacking I completely lost track of price matching. I too watch my pennies and what I spend on stuff. Thank you for bringing it back to my attention. A piece of advice to those who are going to try this. Make sure you take the ad with you. Some stores staff do not like to honor price matching and can be a bit difficult to deal with; so be prepared. With the rising cost of gas this is the smart way to shop. Thanks once agin to shejoc.

Thanks once again to shejoc. I had forgotten about price matching until I read the post by shejoc. Have gotten back into the habit and am saving substantially. Oh the joys of being able to stretch that dollar. I figure if I bargain shop enough then I don't have to feel guilty when I splurge on something frivolous. And at the cost of gas, look at my additional savings shopping mainly at one store.

Zehrs sadly doesn't price match, which really bothers me and has caused them to lose my business. I do price match at FreshCo and Walmart though! :)

Yes, sadly there are still some stores that don't price match like Zehrs and Loblaws but forget them - shop somewhere that does price match! Make your $$$ stretch and work the best for you! YOU DESERVE IT!

Thanks! Yes, totally add coupons on top of your price matching! What's coupon stacking though?
