According to People Magazine, Prince William doesn't plan to wear a wedding band after he weds Kate Middleton. Kate will wear one made from Welsh gold, but William will pass on the modern-day tradition of the husband wearing a wedding band and keep his fingers bare.
What would you do if your husband didn't want to wear a wedding band?

For the record, William's father, Prince Charles DOES wear a wedding band.

The article doesn't say why... that's strange, no? I'd flip out if my hubby refused to wear one.
Interestingly, the article does say "in accordance with the couple's wishes". Thankfully for Kate, there cannot possibly be a woman alive in this world who isn't perfectly aware that he is (ie. will be) a married man!

He's not going to have much luck playing the single guy role at any bars - "Sorry Willy everyone knows you're married.... I have a plate, t-shirt and decorative barf bag to prove it!"
On the other hand, men (and women) who do wear wedding rings can just as easily take them off if they didn't want people knowing.
I'm so curious why he won't wear one though. I would understand if my husband didn't want to wear one because he did a lot of hands on work and the ring would get pretty banged up (actually, since we're in the market there are quite a few brands that are making heavy duty rings for hands on guys). But I don't think Prince William is going into any kind of construction/landscaping/carpentry job anytime soon.... what could it be?!

As long as Kate's cool with it then I suppose it's all good, although I'm really curious about the reasoning behind it.
