Registering an Online Business

If any of you have had experience registering an Etsy store or an online business with the purpose of selling across Canada and Internationally, I would appreciate any advice concerning how you went about doing this.

On the same note, if any of you have a blog that brings in a pretty steady income from either affiliate programs, advertising, or the selling of a product or service, did you have to register your blog as a business?

Lastly, how did you claim your earnings for income taxes?

Thanks in advance for your responses!

I'm in the same boat, I always worry about that stuff. I asked my husband (who's Canadian) and he told me you have to earn over 20,000 a year before declaring or something high like that so he said don't worry about it just now, haha.

@wonderwhatif.... Maybe we can help each other then! I just read on Etsy that the threshold is $30,000 until you can charge sales taxes and ultimately declare it. I'll leave you the link so you can follow the conversation I read.

So, if I understand correctly, if you make less than $20,000 - $30,000, you don't need to give your accountant any information to file income taxes. Is this right?
