Slow Cooker Recipes

Hi Girls,

I've been trying to google and follow slow cooker recipes, but they're not turning out like the pictures.  Last attempt, my chicken so shriveled and burnt, it was unrecognizable, and lets not even talk about the tiny black little bullets that were eggs.

Can you ladies please share some good (easy & tasty) slow cooker recipes that have worked for you?

Thanks so much!! :)

I tried this but... on Dec 21, 2011 @ 11:44 am

this is the recipe I follows that turned out so bad:

I want to try again saturday, but I'd like some ideas for you girls before I ruin another chicken :)

Btw would you add water to a slow cooker when cooking chicken? I cooked beef in there once, and added water. The beef turned out really good, very tender, but it spoiled SO FAST!! By next morning the water had gone frothy and white.... I couldn't bear to look at it, hubby had to through it out!! yesh! :-/ *shudder*

When I've cooked a pork roast or chicken in the cooker before, i added about 1 cup of water (depending on the size of your slow cooker)..you dont need a lot because of the juices from the meat :) BUT for my recipe above, no water is needed and it turns out wonderful!

P.S. on Dec 21, 2011 @ 12:18 pm

P.S. dont feel bad about making horrible or burnt meals!! Its all a learning process and im still butchering some meals as well! My husband is an Executive Chef with like almost 20 years of experience and hes taught me quite a bit so far but Im always soooooo scared to cook a beautiful meal for him, its intimidating with someone with such culinary knowledge! LOL

wow nice! I know what you mean about being intimidated. My hubby's cooking is amazing, everyone in my family just raves about him, and he pretty much weekly cooks something new and brings it over to them for them to enjoy. As my brother says about my cooking, "i try" .. lol :-)
